Miura CB-301s?

Boogs2

Recommended Posts

Anyone play the CB301s? I just hit them and they are absolutely amazing!!!! I hit them compared to the Mizuno mp68s and the Miuras just felt like melted butter. Im thinking of getting a 7-pw or 8-pw set for my scoring irons in the near future. Also how well do they hold up? Are the grooves conforming to the rule change? Any problems with them for the people who play them such as getting dinged up pretty easily, rusting easily, etc etc? Just wanna make sure before I drop the money cause they are really expensive.

I had a set, liked them a lot and used head covers so they held up well. In fact they were pretty much in the same condition when I sold them as when I bought them. I had them close to a year, I have the 202s now and like them even better.

ahh...thats what i thought. how are the 202s compared to the 301s in feel? Reason i'm asking if they're conforming is i'm starting to play course tournaments (im not that good...lol) and I dont want to spend over a grand if I wont be able to game them...but i'm not sure if small tournaments will be held with the new conforming grooves rule. I'm almost tempted to get them anyway cause the 301s felt so good. Now i may have to look at the mp 52 or 58s...we'll see :(
Unless you are planning to play in USGA events or PGA Tour events the new groove rules won't matter to you for a while.
The 301s are beautiful clubs. I have a set and they are great. The 202s look a little different and are tremendous irons as well. Just depends on what you like to look at.
hmm..that puts my mind at a little more ease then...so if your playing high level amateur and pga/nationwide events...then i should be ok? Mainly I'm talking about little local golf tournaments held by the local muni course...so i'm guessing they wont really be checking if ur clubs are conforming. if so, Miura 301s...here i come!!!! :)
You should be fine in your local events. Heck, more than half the field couldn't play if they had to have new clubs! Stupid rule anyway. You will love the 301s.
yeah...thats very true. Whats up with this new groove rule...they dont even have a list yet...what the crap? Maybe its to get golfers to buy several sets of irons? hmmm....lol.

I cant wait til i hit the 301s again...i thought of going away from forged but this may have just pulled me back in...

I've been gaming 301s for about a year now. Just recently replaced 7~PW with Tournament Blade. Great set of club, very forgiving for irons that sets up like Player's iron. 202s were great as well but decided on 301s because I was more comfortable with more blade like look at address.

As far as durability, after 1 year of use (about 1~2 rounds per week) the finish hold up well and looks as new as the day I first got them. Not much dents to them at all even after 1 year of abuse (I clean the club after every shot, and always have cover on it when not in play).

Oh yeah, its butter when you pured the shot. Worth every single penny.

Good Luck!

I have been playing 301's since april. Came from mp 32's. Th 301's are more forgiving definately. Longer maybe just a smidge. Chrome wears much faster than mizuno's. Center of gravity is toward the toe so expect the wear spot to be there. As far as feel they are not as soft as mizuno. They are a more solid dense feel that seems to transfer more energy. But feeling like a mizuno which I think is very soft they are not an this is with the same shaft that I hit side by side. I just absolutely like the way the 301's look although they have too much offset for me I can not find anything that looks better at address.

Thanks for the input guys...more and more it seems like im going towards the Miuras...when I addressed teh 301s...it was absolutely beautiful...only club that might be better in my eyes was the mp 33s...but even then...they are on the same page. Now...i dont know if i should get only 6-pw since these clubs are expensive as hell...lol

Just make sure your club builder paired you with shaft/flex that fit you.  Maybe have your club builder build you a single 6 iron to try out different shaft/flex combo before you take the plunge.

Good Luck

That sounds like a good idea...i might get a 7 iron since i use that for a variety of shots. If you dont mind me asking myu3777...where did u get ur set and how much did u pay, if u dont mind me asking? I just want to make sure that I'm not overpaying per club with this store near me...but one thing they did say that was pretty sweet was they quoted me a certain price and i can get ANY shaft i want...doesnt matter what type or brand.

Power Golf in Rowland Heights, CA (LA area). Around $1400 for 3~PW with KBS Tour 90. But then again, it all depend on what they charge you for the labor and what type of shaft you choose to go with. But if you do decide on DG, maybe you can get your club builder to lower the price a little as they are little cheaper compare to PX/KBS/TC. Maybe ask to have set of new head cover to go with the new clubs ;)
