BSG Now saying 8 to 10 WEEKS!

Just saw the message on their home page. 8 to 10 weeks seems awfully long to switch servers and acclimate content, but we will see......

There is absolutely NO reason any web based business or web site should be down for 8-10 weeks. The rebuilding the data base excuse is lame; you can build a site from scratch in far less time than that and repopulate the forum etc. as the data becomes available.

I don't know, its been a while since I did any programming and online work so maybe things have changed, but it seems suspect to me.

The site is back up and running but there is little to nocontent as of now. the 8-10 weeks is when the old content is supposed to be back.

The site is actually back up...not old content, but it is working now. There is a link on the bottom of their "explanation" page that takes you to their "new and improved" site. My old log-in didnt' work, so I re-registered to see what is going on...lots of empty airtime right now, guess we shall see

With the data loss, everyone needs to re-register and they are trying to merge old data in about a month if it can be recovered.

unless their CMS is based on a totally new schema, which renders their existing backend useless, and don't want to pay the bucks to migrate the data from new to old, they prolly dumping their previous system for legal reasons.

I havn't been logged in to the site for 1 year now and just tired and my old login doesn't work anymore.

I re-registred and I agree, I think he will turn it in to a car and ProN site and then have a sub forum for golf - not kidding

Off the topic, but what ever happened to Mrs. Bighitter. I remember she posted a little bit, and was suppose to be Todd's wife but then she dissappeared without a trace. Did anyone ever confront him on this obvious ruse to make him look normal. I remember her posts always made Todd look like such a good guy.

MM-mine didn't either.. I wrote them a note.. not so sure I want to find out what's up, but I do... had a great experience selling some stuff here and have learned some cool stuff...the mood is very different.. not as confrontatory.. nice to see some of the guys who "disappeared" over there over here now as well.

Agreed, I am not one who gets offended at screen names and avatars. But, I have to say, this has to cross some sort of line. Not only that, but you must know it is wrong, since you are the one who pointed out that it could get you banned.

And just as an aside. I can't prove that Booth was "crazy", but I can prove that he killed an American President. This makes him as vile as assassins Guiteau, Czolgosz, and Oswald. None of which are people that one should emulate, or sympathize with. That is all.
