A new forum for classic golfers and classic clubs

After several starts and stops, I will finally be taking the first steps in possibly creating a forum of our own dedicated to "Classic golfers and classic clubs". This is what I am proposing:

"creating a forum for Classic Golf and Golfers with several subforums (some existing and some new). The sub-forums would include the existing "hickory, persimmon, and classic clubs" forum, "senior golf talk" forum, and three new forums - a "classic club BST", a classic club "deal/no deal", and a "classic tales from the rough" for stories about the senior tour and classic golf tournaments and golfers".

 

The first step in the process will be a poll of the general membership to guage whether there is both significant support of such an alteration to the existing Forum structure and whether there is significant opposition. Before I post the poll, I need to make sure that this is what we would like to see evolve. Please give me feedback. Would you support this restructuring, what changes to the proposal would you like to see, and have I forgotten anything?

 

Please respond quickly as I would like to put the poll together sooner rather than later. Thanks for all of your help and encouragement. smitty

I am definitely all for it... As was mentioned earlier, even a "Vintage" option when listing in the BST would be a sufficient start, and would be a way to gauge how many vintage listings may appear.

I think what you are proposing would be a good idea. There certainly are more interesting topics to discuss other than just clubs alone. I can foresee pretty good activity if we had these sub topics added.

Smitty - I would suggest the following refinements, and I fully support your idea!

"Changing the current Hickory, Persimmon and Classic Clubs subforum (which is currently a subforum of Equipment Domestic and Import into a new forum to be called Classic Golf and Golfers. The new Classic Golf and Golfers forum would be in the path [b]GolfWRX.com > The Bag Room > Classic Golf and Golfers[/b].

In addition to changing the name of the existing "hickory, persimmon, and classic clubs" to "Classic Golf and Golfers" and making it a forum instead of a subforum, several new and exisiting subforums would be reorganized and consolidated under the new Classic Golf and Golfers forum. These would include:

This is the subforum currently at: GolfWRX.com > The Club House > Senior Golf Talk
