Looking for Premium Fairway Wood Shaft

Fubuki, Ozik matrix, Mitsubushi????

I am trying to decide on a premium fairway wood shop. I need a shaft to get the ball up quickly
and I tend you lean on my fairway wood (3 wood) when my Driver goes bad. I would like something
in the OZIK family. I use the Matrix Ozik Xcon 5 in the driver, Altus in the hybrid both Stiff.
I have a quicker tempo in my swing.....thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

if you like oziks, look at the ozik code 8 or the ozik hd8

Code series have been very good and work well for fast tempo swings.
I also like the Oban Devotion series.

I haven't hit all of the Oziks, but I have found the BlueBoard works best for me.

If you wanted to match the type of launch and load you get from the XCon 5 and Altus hb, then the ideal choice would be either the Altus or Altus LT, depending on what your bad miss is like (LT fights the high hook really well, but is a problem for a guy with a fade). Code 8 would be an excellent choice also. However, if the principal use for your 3w is as a safety driver when your swing goes sour, and especially given your quick tempo, then I'd lean strongly toward the HD series - HD8 or even HD9. The idea would be that those shafts are much more tolerant of a quick tempo and especially in the case of the 9 the extra weight might help keep you on plane. If you were worried about their getting the ball up quick enough (they're lower-launching) then you could go half a flex softer than what's in your hybrids.

Love the heavier Fubuki's in my fairways. For me its a perfect ball flight. And I dont have to worry about the dreaded off the deck 40 yard hook anymore

The Oban revenge in the 80 gram range has been an unbelievable combo. Just make sure it is tipped appropriately for your swing and swing speed.

In the 80g range and "smooth" look at a Whiteboard or even the new Project X shafts.

I prefer a lot heavier, so the Ozik never really worked for me. I'm a huge fan of Blueboard 103-X and Project X-10A2 right now.

as for some of the others, even the Matrix's listed all seem to be mid-low launch shafts. the Altus will definitly be higher launching with a more active tip section. the Code 8 I would call mid-launch.

I have n Xcon 6 in Driver and it is from smooth swinger, not quick transition. But it is a hammer. I have never hit anything more stable, consistent, or longer. I heart their shafts. They're just so damn expensive. I am about to reshaft my 3 wood as well.

had the Ozik Code 8 in my 5 wood for ages and its my favourite club because of that shaft, amazing!
