Brandel Chamblee: "The best swing in golf..."

He looks like he fights his swing from beginning to end. Reminds of the scene in the movie Liar Liar where Jim Carey is kicking his own arse in the bathroom. Sorry but it's not the best swing in golf Brandel. Kind of a "front runner" kind of statement. In fact, I think it might be his standard Saturday night comment, just plug in whomever is in the lead of the tournament at that time.

He also said "good trade....good trade" after Notah Begay commented that Tiger's "F word" replacement was a move in the right direction.

I think Brandle means he's nicely Stacked and well Tilted at the top .... though he will go to great lenghts not to mention those two words ...

lol yea thats it.... The way you stack and tilt guys find anyway to bring it into a conversation is just frightning. Haven't you heard the latest if you stack n tilt to much you will go blind so be careful.

I feel absolutely certain that neither Lee himself, nor his coach Pete Cowen, would describe Westwood's swing as being in any way, shape or form based upon the stack and tilt method.

I agree with the above poster. It really does get quite ridiculous the way stack and tilt devotees see elements of their chosen method in everything they look at. If Joe Bloggs is playing well, leading a tournament, he's a stack and tilter. Even if he says he isn't, he is really. When it all goes wrong and Joe starts shooting 80s every round, 'he's not following the model.' But never mind, because whoever's leading that particular tournament is a stack and tilter anyway; thus validating the method all over again.

I reckon if I posted a video of me getting a carton of milk out of the fridge someone would be on within five minutes applauding the way I was stacking a tilting my way to my cup of tea. I swear, if S&T had been around twenty-odd years ago, there would have been someone nodding sagely at Curtis Strange's success and putting that all down to stack and tilt too.

Westwood looked like he was swinging very well at Tuesday's practice round:
1. Calvin Peete and Ed Furgol hit it really straight with a bent left arm. Even Sam Snead's swing show his left arm beginning to bend through impact. So, perhaps getting the club head to hit the ball squarely through impact is a bit easier with a bent left arm.
Calvin Peete broke his elbow and could not straighten the left arm. I've seen very high speed film of Fugol's swing and it's a sight to behold. He had a withered left arm due to a childhood accident and he swung off of his right leg with his right arm. Looks like a 30 hdcp. swing but he was a US Open champion!

Not that I am anywhere close to westwood but there sure are a lot of similarity with his swing and mine, right down to keeping the head down to long and left arm not folding properly in the follow through. Maybe a good model as I look at my own pictures.

I'll say. Looks beautiful. No question as to why he is in contention on the back nine!

Agree. Path has gotta be pretty close to zero and he controls the face pretty well. Stays on the circle very well. Not "normal" looking in certain aspects but controls what is important.

I've got that same swing from a 3/4 behind angle so you can see his left arm. I'll post it later. Westwood was one of the guys that caught my eye Tuesday. He's probably swinging as well as he ever has. BTW, here's a picture of Ed Furgol. Unfortunately there are no videos of him available on the internet, but believe me, it's the most amazing swing I've ever seen. Just goes to show that there are many ways to get it done!

Forget about the bent left arm look at the face of the club in relationship to the left arm its square.

Not much can go wrong from there just (turn) through it.

Reallly dude...getting milk out of a fridge (especially when the milk is on the bottom shelf) requires goin from flexion(bending over to get it) to extension (standing up) by taking the milk out of the fridge. ;)

I also noticed I have alot of weight on my forward foot when I leaned over to get the milk out of the fridge. Maybe there is something to this Stack n Tilt....

Oh jeez, didn't want to upset anyone .....
let's rephrase then: Westwood turns his shoulder on a nice diagonal circle and keeps his spine pretty much in the same place up to the top of his backswing ... he is also doing this way better then a few years ago .....

Need to tilt to stay stacked though ...... didn't say he was a S&T-er .....
