^ Where do you get that from? The only issues Tiger has is him wanting to keep his family together and the scandal indicates a crack in his mental armor. Everything I have read indicates that while it appears a divorce will occur it has not yet. Also, it is not your typical divorce I have heard that custody will be split, and Elin will be reasonably compensated.

I think people need to leave his personal life to himself. Him getting caught obviously showed a crack in his mental armor which was his competitive advantage. But lets get off are high horses here. It is not like he is the only professional athlete to have done this, or role model even. Do we not recall a certain president? Do I condone adultery no, but at the same time I am not going to say someone is bad for doing it. I feel it is nearly impossible for someone to stay faithful in this day and age. (At least what I consider faithful to be) Everyone should just take a step back and view the situation as if it was your boss banging his hot secretary. Are you going to boycott the job in this market? Your not even going to call him out on it. The media out of hand, Haney is well probably feeling the pressure from parents. But, at the end of the day how many people knew Hank Haney before Tiger?

I think the real issue is this, Tiger was on top of the world an no longer is. He appears to be weak, and who is not going to exploit it. But the real question is this exploitation right? I mean the reaction to his saying damn at Augusta that was overblown. Elin was probably right in that it was to soon for Tiger to come back because this is still a hot story. But, people just need to realize that every kid eventually re evaluates who his role models are and few if any will attempt to be Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Phil Mickelson etc... I mean 15 years ago I was all about Michael Jordan. Today, I want to be Jimmy Carter when he was a mediator or think like John Nash.

I think KG said it correctly I like him as a golfer. Who cares what people do behind closed doors. I would like to see the Tiger of 10 years ago come back. The one who would stare down a baby if it got in the way. Had the free flowing swing (this might not be possible) I think he got to nice and left himself open and when the scandal happened he wasn't ready for the public outcry against him. Anyways, I know this is regarding if he is done or not. I think Tiger will be a little off for a year or so but when the media moves on to the next big gossip story. He will slowly creep back onto everyones radar and act like a tiger stalking prey, and then explode back into the spot light. Except this time, he won't be as open and cheerful. He will be ruthless like Trump or Buffet taking whats his and moving on. Anyways, I wish him the best of luck on and off the golf course, and personally I think that the public should begin to resent social media, and gossip columns who invade people's privacy. Just because someone is on tv doing their job does not mean they should be on tv while walking a dog!

As for Tiger, the golf course may be your "sanctuary", but it is so low rent to turn it into a place to get your ego stroked while shooting a 79. Show up with your 'A' game or stay home and practice. You don't get a "pass" for struggling with your golf game because you chose to screw up your life. Fix it on your own time, not mine.
Wow, you sound like you hate the guy. He had a bad round, not a big deal.
What a free ride Tiger gets. All the other players get second banana. Guy misses the cut and gets more air time than the tourment leader. It's just not right. Plays bad and is the spot light player. He should no more be golf's number one than I should. Look around at all the other players who are going out and wining they get no press. Golf broadcasting is a joke right now. The golf channel is in love with Tiger. They can't say two words without bringing him up. Lets shed some light on the who is winning.

Funkey I think you are right. We should be talking about Rory and Clark other winners rather than Tiger. But it is unusual for Tiger to miss a cut.

I also would not call what Tiger gets a free ride. If anything is a nuisance and if he had a choice I think he would prefer to be out of the limelight.

Now you say he shouldn't be the worlds #1 but you have no real reason for this. He won plenty of tournaments last year and I may be wrong but also won the FedEx cup. So a one missed cut is not really justifiable for removing him from that spot.

It is not a bad idea to redo the rankings every year, but then you would also be missing top players who are struggling. It seems more like a way to distinguish players. Any golfer knows anyone can win a tournament at anytime.

The golf channel, sports center, etc... all talk about Tiger for the mere fact that controversy gets ratings (similar to sex). If they were to talk about Rory and Clark, even Lefty you would lose certain demographics who are only into golf because of Tiger. Is this a bad thing thats a personal perspective. However, I am fairly certain that the big golf companies, tournament hosts, sponsors do not feel that way.

Great little piece from article I read:
For a guy trying to patch up his image, Tiger Woods sure seems to keep making himself more and more difficult to trust.

Woods said he and swing coach Hank Haney "talk every day, so nothing has changed." Then a few days later, Haney resigns and says, other than a pair of short texts, the two had had no contact since the Masters.

One day, Woods tells reporters that his knee and Achilles are good, and adds "None. Zero. Everything is 100 percent," when asked if there were any other ailments. Three days later, he withdraws from The Players Championship citing neck pain that has been as issue since before his return at the Masters.

Memo to Tiger: If you are no longer believable when answering a simple question like "are you healthy," why should anybody trust your opinion on the merits of Nike's new driver?
I am curious about the opinions of the many who voiced that they just wanted to see TW play again and did not care about his transgressions, behaviour on and off the course, etc.

What do you think now?

Has his play satisfied you?

Do you still feel that his powers of concentration will allow him to ignore his troubled personal life?

Will he win?

Will he win a Major or Majors this year, as many seemed to think that he would in order to spite those who criticized him?

No judgements - is this what you wanted?

If TW truly has a cervical disc problem, IMO he will never be the same. I had (have) this problem and ended up having a 3 level cervical fusion after waking up one morning unable to raise my right hand above shoulder level. At the time, I was scratch and had played in my state am the year before. I slowly returned to playing about 6 months after surgery, but my game's not the same primarily because I can't practice as much because of the lingering effects of the injury. I believe Tiger does have this problem after hearing his description of his symptoms and watching his recent play. Looks and sounds familiar. IMO, the future holds this for Tiger: He will return to play and play decently, probably win a few including majors. But flareups will prevent him from practicing as hard as he normally would, resulting in a deterioration in his long game particularly. Anti-inflammatory meds and epidural steroid injections will get him thru the flare-ups, but his work ethic and desire for excellence will cause him to over-do it, and surgery will follow. His quest for 18+ majors will become his primary goal, but I give him a 50-50 chance at best. Cervical disc problems are serious problems, particularly for golfers because of the physical stress of the golf swing. Mine resulted in about a 20% permanent loss of strength in my right shoulder and upper arm. Fortunately, I don't make a living playing golf.

First, I can't speak for everyone, I should also probably re read my posts but I do care about his behavior on the course. Other than that not so much.

Second, if what smoky said was true then I can imagine many getting off the Woods bandwagon. Personally, I feel his impact over the span of his career outweighs his most recent failures. As far as obtaining satisfaction from another person's victories or accomplishments. I could probably care less unless I somehow helped them succeed. I enjoyed watching Tiger because of the things he could do that none of us could imagine. Just like I enjoy watching Lefty because he is willing to try things no one else is like put two drivers in the bag. I mean it was just as satisfying watching lefty on Sunday at the Masters this year as it would have been for Tiger.

Third, Tiger will win as long as he maintains being a great putter and short game player. Tiger has never been the longest and his balance of power and accuracy is what made him. So, I think thatif he can compensate for a loss of power he will win again.

I don't think Tiger is a spiteful individual. I do think that him letting the walls down led to many of the issues he currently faces. His team attempting to humanize him has hurt him. If he is to win then a lot of it will have to do with his health and ability to practice. Also, I do think the off the course stuff is having an impact on him but I don't want to speculate or care what may be happening to him off the golf course.

Regardless, I see Tiger forever being someone who some will love regardless, other hate regardless, and their is a medium who go either way. Kind've ironic but two years ago it seemed everyone loved Tiger after the US Open. However, before that people were in this love hate zone as well. I guess what goes around comes around.

Not really sure about the question as I don't know who you are asking it to. But, you are asking need our opinion or judgement to be answered.

Stony, the article makes a good point, but I haven't seen Tiger talk about equipment in quite some time. I think marketers realize you don't need him to talk about his equipment because most know it and can't play it. However, Nike is certainly looking to distance itself to a certain extent. Anyone catch the Kim and Leonard commercial for the VR driver? In retrospect it might not have been the greatest idea naming something after someone so controversial. But based strictly on golf accomplishments it makes/made a lot of sense.

Elin's got another thing coming and that's what Tiger will tell her. I don't like Tiger to an extent, but what Elin Woods is proposing will just get laughed in the face by Tiger and his lawyers. She doesn't need $750 million, she hasn't worked for a cent of that. Tiger should just throw $20 million in her face and say "take it or leave it".

I agree, I just don't see her getting that kind of money. But she probably doesn't expect it either, she just set the bar high. I bet she gets $200 mil easy.

And Elin will say' "I'm leaving it, see you in court." And thats the last place Tiger wants to be. Elin's lawyers will call his mistresses, probably not all of them, but enough to reveal some very sordid details about Tiger, details he will pay dearly to keep hushed up.

Elin may not get everything she is asking for, but it will be in the hundreds of millions.

$20 million, please, her lawyers will get more than that.

She should be happy with half, but to try and take close to 75% of his net worth is ludicrous. What has she done to deserve more than most any court awards? At $600 million, she should be plenty happy. Plus she wants to take his children away from him, in essence. That's just wrong. If I were Tiger, I'd try to get her down to half and joint custody.

I'd say bearing him a couple of children while he was off boning in the bone yard is a good start...

In all seriousness, $750 million is absurd, but I would not be surprised to see $300M and full custody.

Ping. Play Your Best.

My thought is that he is asking her something outrageous and this is just a counter measure. With that being said, going to court would only hurt Tiger if he couldn't get the case sealed. Also, I think the reason she hasn't filed for divorce is that in Florida adultery does not void a pre nup so she would get whatever she is supposed. Something like 10 or 20 million.

I just want to go back and talk about another comment regarding the lack of publicity of other players. I was thinking about this and could not agree more. I have not heard anything about many toher players aside from Phil winning the masters and Vijay dropping out of the top 50. I don't get an opportunity to watch much golf but still. What happened to the Kenny Perry, Charles Howell, Camilo Villegas, Boo Weekly talk?

Without getting too much into the legalities, since most of us are not lawyers, I think Elin's attorneys can make a good case that Tiger's behavior was egregious, not merely adultry, and as such any pre-nup should be voided. Not saying they would win, but I think they have a case.

In any event, it probably doesn't matter, since as I've said I don't think there is any way Tiger wants this to go to trial. He will pay big bucks to keep that from happening.

Agreed doesn't make sense for either of them to go to trial. I don't know if her not filing indicates that a compromise will be reached or if they are still looking to reconcile. I would say based on his increase in tournaments this is a no. Although, distance does make the heart grow fonder. Anyways, can anyone tell me what happened to those players I named? Haney leaving is interesting was this done to save his image?
