Rickie Fowler --- I am a fan

I followed Rickie at Firestone and he was fun to follow . Played quickly, he could have played better but I never saw any negative emotion from him which was nice. After his round he threw a hat exactly like the one he was wearing (except black, not orange) and about 8 trion-z's. He'll through you a high five if you stick your hand out on the way to the next tee. Good guy, looking forward to following him.

I find myself an unabashed Rickie Fowler fan. I like the way he carries out his business on the golf course. He's a bit of a risk taker, but more calculated risks than going for "wow" shots. I don't find myself saying, "that was dumb" like I have with the best in today's game. I like that he laid up on that par 5 in Phoenix, sticking to his game plan and standing up to the media afterwards with no doubt he made the right choice. Misses a shot, he let's it go and moves on to the next one. No hissy fits, club tossing, angry caddie stares, expletives. Very even tempered demeanor -- a real plus.

He is a courageous putter and a very good one at that. If he couldn't putt, I wouldn't be a fan --- gotta putt to win. Interestingly, he may take his biggest risks on the putting surface. Never up, never in.

His swing is exciting to watch -- it's unique. I like it's his own swing and that he has resisted the many attempts to "fix" it by "experts." That shows character. Does he have things to work on? Sure ... but not change. Time on tour will give him the work he needs. But it's fun to watch his slash.

Rickie has that "it" factor, personal magnetism. Few have it, no one can go get it. I like that he has the courage of his convictions to be different, to not conform to a country club norm of accepted style. I could care less what clothes you wear, but I do appreciate that fact that Rickie again resists the pressure to conform.

Jack Nicklaus extends his hand on 18 to congratulate Fowler on his impressive tournament play after posting runner-up numbers(and a 2-day record) at Miurfield; "Great job, son." [i]What do you say?[/i] Thanks? I tried my best? Great course really challenged us? Just wasn't my day?

Rickie respectfully looks him straight in the eye and replies, "I wanted to win it, Mr. Nicklaus. I wanted to win."

I thought when he was at Memorial and giving high fives to the fans and being very interactive was awesome...we pay for golf entertainment. Guys like Rickie Fowler make it a better experience for the fans...I wish him the best of luck in his career.

I think it's great to see him interacting with the crowd like he does. It seems many young guys want to be "all business" and forget why they are there.

I like the guy. plays the game with a lot of heart. fearless. he also rides motocross so he definitely is not the cookie cut golf guy. he prides himself on being different. his golf swing is purely his own and learned how to create immense power and accuracy with it. I hope he maintains being himself and doesn't let a lot of media or people get into his head to make him question his swing. people like to really pick apart the guys with the unorthodox swings. jim furyk is also another guy i look at as more of an innovator than bad swing. he has a different grip than anybody and obviously has a one of kind golf swing. he does things nobody else does and makes it work. rickey fowler is another one that does what he does and asks questions later. huge talent.

Got a chance to see Rickie Fowler at Sunday's Final round of the Barclay's. Watched him warmup on the range, then followed him to the practice green. While most players do not sign autographs prior to teeing off, Rickie stopped to sign a few autographs including one for myself on his way from the practice green to the practice bunker before teeing off in his final round.

I also was able to stand along the ropes where players were exiting 18 green to go sign their cards and most players didn't do much interacting. Some caddies gave balls, gloves, ect... to little kids lining the ropes, but as far as the players they were pretty much business, Rickie, after missing a par putt and making bogey, made sure to clap every single hand along the ropes while exiting 18 green.

His fan interaction is great and I just wanted to give him some recognition for that. It's good to see many young guys like Fowler, Mahan, Dustin Joihnson, ect... representing the tour so great these days.

I don't much care what people wear, Fowler included, unless it's purposely commercial or distracting - John Daly, for example. Cut the kid a break about his clothing - I wasn't much younger when I wore a decorated powder blue tux. In public. Most of us get over it soon enough and join the crowd of indistinguishables...

His handlers are doing a fantastic job and so far he is done everything write to position himself as the next star in golf. If the kid could just win a tourney. I really look forward to decades of Rory vs Rickie battles.

He's actually about 5'7" and a half. LOL. I saw him at a restaurant in san diego and i am 5'8" and i think i had him by a smidge.

I saw him at the John Deere Classic earlier in the year. I followed him on Friday and he ended up missing the cut after a couple missed puts on the last few holes, but still took time to sign autographs after signing his score card. I was a fan before, but even more so after seeing that.

i was on the 17th fairway on Saturday when rickie hit a ridiculous 3 wood up the hill to 5 feet. After a 320 yard drive, which in its own right was crazy, he hit a 280 yd three wood that was an absolute laser. It was by far the best golf shot i've ever seen live in my life.

i really hope he makes the ryder cup since he was great as a walker cup player and after seeing him live, he is legit.

That type of interaction is important because it's the spectators who pay them their salaries. Without us, they get nothing...
