Longest LEGAL golf ball

I'm playing in a three-man scramble next weekend at $100 per man. It's a 72 team field playing in 6-somes, all cash (front 25%, back 25%, overall 25%, skins 25%). I'm looking for any LEGAL advantage I can get so I figure a few extra yards can't hurt the team. I play the Pro V1x but would like everyone's opinion on the what they believe is the longest legal golf ball on the market. My driver SS is 105 mph with a spin rate of 2300-2800 RPM and a launch angle of 12*-14* using the Pro V1x. Any recommendations?

IMHO I think the Callaway Hx Hot (older version, not the new Bite version) is the longest ball I've played with. Don't expect for it to stop on the greens though.

I usually play the Top Flight Freak in scrambles but recently found and tried a Pinnacle Gold and it may be longer..... Have to check it out side by side

Pinnacle Gold, are one of the longest balls ever. They go for miles off the tee, but aren't worth much more anywhere else. If you can find the old model with the red/black logo, long drive model, you've found your driving ball. Top Flite Freaks are a close second, real long, and cheap enough where if you yank one in the woods, or dump one in the water, you won't mind.

HX Hot is the one golf ball that I have always been amazed by. No other ball seems to be "consistently" longer than it. When I am out praacticing on the course, I will sometimes hit 8-10 drives with just random balls that I have found over the past few days and the HX Hot is always out there past everything if I hit it right. It is no tour performance ball but it also seems to catch a little spin around the greens. I have hit the Freak and the Gold but I think the fact that they seel like sh!t puts me off and limits my distance.

i kid u not......... [b]Slazenger Raw Distance[/b].... i found out there is a reason it is the new official ball of the Remax LD championship. i am prolly gonna catch flack for this, but i swear it is sickeningly long. but thats about all it is haha. i mean i can carry that ball 20 yards further, last fall at my course i hit my drive on the 9th hole 15 yards to the right of the green pin high. the hole is 385 yards long just barely uphill if any................................. i did take a lash at it on that swing but im normally right around 50 yards out on that hole... so yeah they are stupid lol

I agree Slazenger Raw Distance is the longest ball off the tee I have ever hit. Not a good ball for iron play though..

the slazemger is by far the way to go if you are seriously looking to grip and rip. feels like you are hitting rocks but just flat goes.

I have never noticed a very big difference between some of the "feel" balls as compared to some of the true "distance" balls. For example, I feel like the Callaway i(s) is very very long. I played a round with that against a proV1 and found that it was typically 10+ yards further off the tee.

Another yea for the HX Hot. Bullet off the tee and at least an iron longer than most premium balls. It is OK around the greens and not at all bad on the greens.

The Top Flite D2 distance ball is no slouch either, they seem to roll out nice also.

One more for the Slazenger Raw Distance. No par-5 or short par-4 is safe from it. A nightmare with a wedge, though.

The Callaway Warbird is pretty long too. Not the biggest fan of the feel, but certainly playable.

Use your ProV1X.
You know how it flies and feels already so you will be more accurate with it.
You will be more confident on each shot knowing it's the same ball you always use, plus I would assume you will have to play the entire hole with the same ball you Tee off with.
You will be happy around and on the greens that you are not hitting one of those long distance, low spin rocks.

I am currious how they work out the golf cart assignment. Do they send out 3 or 4 carts in each sixsome?

I have a scramble coming up and would like to purchase some distance balls for my foursome. I know that in scrambles you can replace your ball for your second shot. GG has Slazenger Raw Distance Xtreme balls at $25 for 24. I would like to know some other peoples opinions on this topic as well.

You can find them online. They break USGA rules to go crazy long.

i'm guessing the one ball rule isn't in effect in a scramble. since you can put your hands on your ball, you simply change to your player's ball for your approach shots. that, i surmise, is what the OP intends to do.

I haven't used one this year. I can't stand the roll out on the greens but they are the longest ball I've ever hit. Period. I would be very interested in hearing of the people who DIDN'T say HX Hot, how many of them actually tried it?

I've tried nearl every ball mentioned and there is a good pack of long ones, but the HX Hot is just crazy long. Too sloppy for short game scoring though but in a scramble, it would be my tee ball.

Another ball which caught me off guard for -extreme- distance was of all things, a Wilson Staff D:25. They really do make a good variety of balls and I wonder why I don't give them a better shake (even the FG Tour)

I was playing the HX Hot but recently switched to the Diablo ... feels to me like a slightly better in every way version of the HX Hot, a bit longer, a bit more stop on the green, a bit better feel. Yesterday I drove through a 318yd par 4, rolled 20' off the back of the green (103-106mph swing speed). And on every par 3 the ball checked back about 1-2' from my divots.

The surprise for me with the Diablo is that it never balloons on me, I get the ball up quick and the HX Hot would sometimes balloon. The Bridgestone E7 produces a 'prettier' flight for me, but the Diablo ends up going farther. I get more bite with the E7, but don't really need anymore than the Diablo gives me ... so that's my ball for 2010.

The HX Hot and e7 are the longest I have hit but they hardly spin. NXT Tour is the longest ball I have hit that still has decent spin.
