most forgiving anser style head

topic is pretty self explanatory. i figure there is some anser, anser 2, newport 2 etc. style head out there that has got some nice technology in it. i figured the new yes moi series might be promising.

An Anser is an Anser. Pick what feels and looks good to you. It is always the person putting. Give a person the least/most technical putter and they will still miss because of a push or pull. There is no magic.

well sometimes the miss isn't a push or pull, it can be a slight toe or heel in which case forgiveness could make a difference.

All the Anser style are perimeter weighted so they have the same forgiveness, none being superior to another. If you are speaking to the heel and toe that is more of a fitting process in order to get the correct lie, length, and weight. I, like most on this site, have a number of putters starting with Ping and going to Scotty Cameron. Other than cost I have not noticed any play ability between a Ping or a Scotty.

Forgiving, is an over used term. Pick what feels good, and looks right to you and you will find the forgiveness, because of confidence, not design.

Consider the ping Anser iwi which has the replaceable weights. With the medium or heavy selection of the weights, this putter is "forgiving" in that the heavier weight will steady the stroke on the putts inside of 6 feet or so. It has really made a diffference for me. Personally, I use the medium weights which brings the putter in at about 360 grams yet still allow some decent feel for distance control.

This doesn't seem to be a popular or common putter - I have yet to see another one on the course. But I've had it over a year and love it.

Not a whole lot of difference on mishits. Rife, Rossi, and others with the roll groove type technology seem to put a slightly better roll on the ball, so that isn't going to hurt for those times when you miss the sweetspot. But in general, little difference between them.

Guia, not to get into an argument, because i agree with you for the most part. but i do own a newport 2 studio select, and mizuno bett, and a ping and there are differences in them in terms of off center hits. personally i use the bett because i roll it the best, but it is the worst of the three when i mishit it.

No argument from me. To each their own. I change putters regularly between, Anser 2, Rife Aussie, and a Camerson Studio, every couple of rounds, I putt the same with each.

The most forgiving anser style head would be the JAS anser.

It was milled from a solid block of titanium and then had tungsten weights brazed into the heel and toe of the putter to dramatically increase the forgiveness and the MOI.

They were very expensive when they first hit the market topping over $500 but can now be had n good condition for around 125-200 depending in condition.

hope this helped, but other then the JAS i think you would be hard pressed to find a more forgiving anser putter

The Studio Stainless NPII and the Bryon DH-89 are the two Anser-style putters that I've found to be the most consistent.

Probably not what you're looking for, but the answer to your question has to be the Heavy Putter. For obvious reasons, it has a very high MOI compared to other brands with similar head shapes. I wouldn't recommend it, though. You might want to try an Odyssey 330 style head. It is similar to an Anser style but with an elongated bottom flange. Good MOI without the obnoxious shape.

I'd pick one that has the sweet spot (center of percussion) in the center of the pocket and that is aligned with whatever sight dot or sightline there is on the putter.

I have been using a Nike Method 001. I find that I can hear the miss hits and I can feel them but they still go in. If they don't go in they are sitting on the edge so it may take a little off on a miss hit. I have an SC Pro Platinum Mid Sur that has been cut down to 34". It is very forgiving as it is heavy compared to my SC SS N2 and very soft feeling. I also have a Pro Gear C-Groove putter that is like the Yes Tracy. Very light putter, I never have noticed a miss hit with this putter, very large sweet spot.

this is accurate because movement of hte weight to the perimeter is what increases MOI. http://thepowerfade....styles-and-moi/

Bobby Grace Captiva. Still a few around and the distance control technology really makes this the best Anser on mishits - ball always goes the same distance. Also beautifully balanced.
