Just a note, I really couldn't care less about either of them. But, I suppose you missed the 1st hole, where Mickelson blew it by Eldrick 50+ yards. Your man is the guy with the immense ego. Ask around.

Rankings-wise...yes. Reality-wise, NO.

You know every time I see that you have responded to a thread, the first thought that comes to mind is "oh it'll be another anti-Tiger post". I've only been a member here 2 weeks.

It must suck to be so jealous of Tiger that you feel the need to belittle him every opportunity you get on an internet forum :fool:

Edit: Big ups to DJ for closing it out today for the W! :yahoo:

Really pleased to see DJ win, he definitely deserves it. Congrats. Hope he wins the

FedEx Cup next week. I'll be pullin' for him.

Tiger is the best player no doubt. Every other player out there knows it's the truth.

All players have down times, especially Tiger this year with all that's happened to him

off the golf course. It's just a matter of time before he's back winning again and being

the best by a long shot. The only thing that's going to stop Tiger being the best is the

aging process. That's reality.

It's amazing no one has taken over #1 yet. I suppose Phil will finally do it next week

after umpteen times he could have done it. I wouldn't put money on him though. laugh.gif

i was there today for a few hours and Stricker is one of the greatest guys out there, every time someone said great drive or great shot, he said hey thanks alot, everyone that had their had out inbetween hole crossings, he gave them 5's, noone else i witnessed did this. tiger and phil have a circuss following them, you could easily follow any other player out there except those 2 with no crowd's at all. i follwed tiger and phil for about 6 holes, then kept up with stricker, kuchar, johnson and moore for a while till we left around 3pm.

a lot of players just simply ignored every one and i can understand that, they are trying to concentrate on playing golf but stricker had a great round yet he was very a personable at the same time. tiger walked around pisse doff all day, seemed it was because he knew was going to atlanta to me but it could of been other things on his mind.

it would of been nice if ryan could of hung on to the lead but it was about time johnson held ot together for the last round to pull away with a win.

it was alot of fun being out there and hopefully i can make it to a few events next year

I guess Stricker is one of those golfers that is just happy to be out there playing so the little things like talking to and interacting with people don't throw him off his game.
But then again I guess the bigger names have much bigger crowd too. I've seen some of those shots the big names hit where there is mass crowd all around and I know I would be afraid of plowing right into them with a bad shot lol

What has happened to the once classey game of Golf?
Now all you hear on TV is the fans yelling and giving Tiger advice. These people really need to get a life.

apparently you don't know how arnie's army treated jack when he first came out on tour and was challenging the king's throne. this being a gentleman's game is a joke

One thing I took away was amusement watching pros struggle with the dirt bunkers at Cog Hill.  Not groomed sand that they are accustomed to, just regular dirt like I play on.  It's not that easy when you're guessing what's underneath the ball and how each shot is going to come out.

Also, watching them make big scores on the holes I parred there last time was fun ;)

Did anyone else notice the lack of coverage for Dustin Johnson up until he and Casey were tied for the lead? He was one stroke back and they were barely covering him. It wasn't until he was tied with Casey that DJ finally started getting the coverage he deserved. I seem to remember it was kind of the same thing Sunday at the PGA Championship.

I was at Cog Hill on Friday, and followed the pairing of Ryan and Marc Leishman through their entire second round. It was funny - Leishman totally dwarfed Ryan physically, but it was amazing how Ryan seemed to be getting the better of him off the tee, distance-wise, especially on their second nine! Part of it might have come from frustration, as Ryan kept burning the edges with his putts, and the frustration on the greens was quite evident.

yes, commented to my wife on this also.........thought the coverage of him lacked big time; don't know why............definately a conscious decision though on the producers part.

On Sunday they simply covered every shot by Phil and Woods, and ignored the tournament itself, until those two finished. It was criminal, and a perfect example of why the PGA Tour is screwed beyond belief without those two. The PGA Tour has put all their eggs in two baskets. Even after Phil and Woods finished, we got their interviews, and highlights, instead the tournament that was still going on.

I don't think Johnson got shorted anymore than anyone else in the last ten groups.

[b]Because they were too busy covering Eldrick Woods, who was in 26th position with no treat to win nor continue in the playoffs.
