Ever get fed-up to point where ...

Have you ever been so fed-up with your game that you drive straight from the golf course you just stunk up to a golf store and sell your clubs?

 

I did it today.

 

I've been trying to undo a swing fault for over a month, now, and just sucking at golf. Not having fun. :russian_roulette:

 

I posted a stinker today and drove straight to Strictly Golf and sold my tour issue AP2s. Bam. Whoever gets them won't even know.

 

Felt good to do it.

 

Only problem is, my backup set is vintage 2002 and about 3*/4* too flat if I recall correctly. :black eye:

 

 

Why did they decide to call it g-o-l-f???

I haven't gotten to that point yet. Hahaha, but thank you for the laugh. I did take a break for about 7 months before, some people call that winter, but I was in Florida. I work in retail so I tend to have high levels of patience overall. Except when behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.

It is cheaper to blame poor play on the tee or the ball! Sometimes I'll take my clubs home and bathe them is warm soapy water, then give them a rub down with stainless steel cleaner (Shiela Shine), then a good buffing with a dry terry towel. After that we're friends again.

thats a shame that you did that, i would have bought them off of you! i have never done that, but i did quit the game for two years after i was done playing the mini tours, trust me, you have people here who fully understand how frustrating this game can be.

Better that than the urge to "helicopter" one of them into the nearest pond and end up with a hole in the set...

I keep extra clubs in the trunk so at the beginning of a round I can threaten the ones I'm going to use..."see those clubs? They're just WAITING to replace you if you don't behave, take note..."

Seems to be working lately...

I got a funny feeling reading that ... like when we used to climb the rope in gym class.

i know exactly how you feel.... about 2 months ago i was playing great "for me"!!! i even had aspirations of shooting a par...... i was shooting 75-78 consistently. and then out of the blue i started shanking the ball off the hosel consistently., i was so frustrated i quit after 7 holes 1 round, my scores went all the way to 88-90... i went and saw my pro and got a lesson, and still couldn't get rid of 'em.... i was/am so frustrated i thought of selling mine tooo!!! right now i'm starting to come around again, i shot an 80 this week but am still struggling with consistent ball striking!!!! it's a terribly frustratin game!!!

Bad news. Thanks to a dumb ruling by the USGA, your 2002 irons are most likely non-conforming.

Now you'll be forced to buy new equipment next spring with crappy grooves.

I've been frustrated many times, but never thought it was due to my clubs.
