Wrong.......the Del Mar type head style that putter is has more toe hang that his Newport does with the plumber's neck. Thus creating more a need for a more open to closed putting stroke. I am a big fan of this head style and it definitely isn't even close to be used for straight back and straight through........

Now if it had the long plumber's neck of some of the older Del Mar's, those are face balanced.......have to have more weight towards the center of the head to face balance a putter.

That looks like the 003, which is what I game right now, and have had a lot of success. It's interesting to see Tiger's transition... Hopefully he has better luck with it over the 001.

Looks like the Scotty Del Mar 3.5, The original JAT Sergio used at Medinah in '99 and Darren Clarke used it as well for a while. Heal shafted promoting a huge open to square to closed path. I always loved the Del Mar 3.5 but never pulled the trigger on buying one.

Seriously? No way does Tiger wake up and say "Ya know what? This has been a rough year for me and my sponsors, especially Nike Golf. I think it's time to play a complete 14-club set of Nike equipment as a way to say 'thanks' for sticking by me." He plays 13 of their clubs and has won 83 tournaments worldwide. Getting back to form is the only way he can repay Nike. If the Scotty has run it's course, then it's time for a change but I think Tiger's going to make sure he uses a putter that works whether it has a swoosh on it or not.

I think that the reason Tiger is switching putters is that he hasn't been putting consistently as good as he used to. There is no way he is thinking about how this will affect Nike or Scotty Cameron.

I disagree. If it's not in his contract Tiger is under no obligation whatsoever to use a Nike putter. He's not going to bag one just so a few VP's can smile and be happy. He's going to bag whatever putter he thinks will feel best in his hands and give him the best possible chance to win.

True, but if Nike makes a putter that "feels"/performs as good as his Scotty, I would think he would definitely bag the Nike. Also, I guarantee you that Nike is much more at his beckons call than Scotty Cameron. They are trying to one up his "holy grail" Scotty and will cater to his every detail.

If I recall correctly, there was a lot of talk about a putter that he was using with a different grip and head style at the PGA as well this year, and Tiger said at the press conference that it was a practice putter. He uses a different putter to improve his stroke than he does to putt with is what he said. Maybe he's using this to help him feel his release better, and then back to his Newport style for the tournament. What a fun guessing game this is until he plays his first round...

They stuck with him? He and his talent alone built Nike Golf into a billion dollar division of the golf industry. If Tiger stayed with Titleist and Nike tried to build that division without him they would have failed. The first five years they were building that division who other than Tiger played and won with their equipment? Remember the scrutiny and the quotes of people, Phil, saying things like "He is playing with inferior equipment" yet still winning. If he were not winning people would not have bought any of that inferior equipment. They stuck with him? More like they made billions off him and he owes them absolutely nothing.
