Tiger hopes there is one.

What retail store do you work at?

So We know where to send the next batch. :drinks:

I don't get the question. Who is we? (would that be the royal we) Working at a golf retail shop is something I might have considered when I was 14. The only use I have for golf retail stores is a place to pick up and pay for my OEM/Tour/Prototype equipment from the various companys.

Interesting where you live. If you are affliated with Nike do you know Cindy?

actually Nike does have a new driver in the works called the Sumo.

They've made a unique choice as to how they will test metal fatigue....

Confirms that you are what is referred to as a "salter". Very good business practice to check the water on the various sites. Ping for instance is doing it on the redwood series putters as far as the name is concerned. Sure hope you guys hurry up and get some new product as far as irons out--the poor retailers (even though I don't work at one) need something. By the way I can tell you, I have NEVER gotten any proto or tour equipment from Nike. Probably the only desireable tour equipment I would ever have wanted were the original split cavities (only because of their rarity). As I remember I did get one of the early sets of the first pro combos (thought they were a good club but caught nothing but holy hell concerning the cosmetics on other sites when I showed pictures) with those less than desireable speed shafts. I still have what I consider your best driver produced to date (when compared with other offerings at the time) the original blue 410.

You also have a lot of cheerleaders for your product on this site. Almost to a fault. Everytime someone does something with a piece of Nike equipment it is mentioned here within hours (payback as one poster said for the years of abuse). Almost as tiresome as the scotty cameron consecutive wins thread some time ago.

So that the world is safe from the people that use Nike, no one with a single piece of Nike will post on any blog about your bag or what is in the bag or say anything about any new equpment for the rest of the month. Apparently having enthusiasm for your equipment is forbidden under the terms of the Geneva convention, unless it says Mizuno, TM, Titleist, Callaway or Ping on the sole, bag, hat, glove, or cavity.

Having good feelings about equipment made by that shoe company causes patrons on various sites to get gas or mood swings and in spite of the constant bad-mouthing of said equipment, saying one good thing is against the laws of the universe.

All those in favor, give the usual sign? Those in disagreement have the floor to say no...

there are a couple of loop holes in your story here:

1. the early sets of the pro combos came with rifles, not the speed step steel shafts - this point could be incorrect as i am being informed by a member, however i am basing this on a nike rep i meet when i went with my friend to a demo day right after these came out.

2. the "original blue 410"? the blue drivers were the forged ti (also a steel version 275cc and 300cc) that came in 300cc, 350cc, 400cc, and 450cc. the 410cc models are the ignite and sq tour, neither of which are blue.

it seems like you have some serious angst against nike these days, which is funny seeing how you "have a family member that works there".

SALTER ? far from it. The only salt that my have been thrown around is the YOUR post in another thread that we both know was wayyyyyyy out in left field. The information was soooo far fetched it was not even funny. Now you are using the "Business Practice" card. AGAIN waayyyyy out in left field. I am on the board on my free time, The only input that I may have is the very little information that I can put out about equipment beacuse I am "BOUND". I try to provide ACCURATE information to all of the memebers on the board and try to answer questions that they may have. IF ANYONE on this board thinks that I provide a dis-service please PM me and tell me so.

Lastly, Cheerleaders? wow... honestly I am speachless that you say that since the ratio of Nike "cheerleaders" are heavily outweighed by other OEM's (cheerleaders). No Offense guys... :drinks:

What it comes down to is that I love the game of golf, NO matter who wins. It is that simple!

I will give anything nike comes out with a try. To me they are one of the FEW companies that dare to think outside the box. I came to understand this from playing tennis for years on end with their footwear. NIKE THINKS OUTSIDE THE BOX; For this I will forever be a loyal customer, shell, and advocate for nike. I cant wait for nikes new driver to be out, WHENEVER it will be.

There is a rumor that a company is coming out with a "square" driver. The square shape is said to have a super high MOI. I personally believe this is NIKE. I say this because if you look at the sasquatch ad on tv, there is a part where they draw a cube outline around the sasquatch head when they talk about the sasquatches forgiveness. Just a thought.

We will all have our equipment brand biases good and bad based on our individual experiences.

Sandy not trying to stir the pot but going through your other posts you seem to have a favorable bias towards Cobra as well. That is not a bad thing. I'm dying to try the new Hs9 myself.

I think you haven't read all my posts on Cobra. I don't think I have been exactly what could be called positive on that driver. While the XX Speed works well it is among the ugliest drivers out today. Cobra has ruined an excellent iron (the SS) with the current one (CB). Cobra sells very little that is in use on the tour (probably the biggest "offender" of any of the OEMs in this respect). Don't know how that is a pro Cobra bias.

Please help me with the thread that is way out in left field. There have been so many I have lost count. I don't recall saying anything about your information being inaccurate. Please point that out in your free time. No where did I say that salting intentionally or unintentionally (supporting one's product) was a "bad" thing. If you are not trying to test the waters on new product or help sell new or existing product then I misinterpreted your posts over time. At no time did I say you were providing a disservice to this board. You are supporting your product and I have never "accused" you of being a Nike cheerleader. That title is left to others. And yes you are right that others have many as well (Cameron and Taylor Made come to mind).

But do me a favor and point out the offending thread. I can't believe it is on Nike product because I don't know much about Nike product other than it is no better or no worse than anyone elses. I would like to respond to it and after that I will cease all MY wayyyyyyyyyyy (right number of ys?) out in left field inaccurate posts (which I assume are all of them).

Grats Trevor Immelman, Another Nike staff player wins.

BTW, looks like your so called "IRRITATION" did not last too long. Nice pick up on the blades. You got them wayyyyyy (yes 6 y's) below cost. lololololololololo.

What brand do you play? just wondering?

That is exactly what the dealer said---at least $200 under cost (considering I have averaged $25,000 a year there for over 30+ years--corrected for inflation I don't think he is really losing that much). I gave them this morning to my brother, he is thrilled beyond words. After playing for the better part of the last 6 months with all Callaway (if the other guy thought I was positive on Cobra he should have reread my callaway posts---does look a little like shilling if I do say so myself), I have switched to a set of irons that I am bound and gagged not to talk about under penalty of losing them instantly (but it isn't callaway). And I have dropped the Callaway X-460 and Cobra XX Speed drivers in favor of a custom made driver I got a year ago called a Traditonal Golf TR-1--still haven't found anything as long or accurate.
