I think the chip in save should only be valid in a situation where the golfer is attempting to save par or better. It eliminates the loophole of someone intentionally laying up greenside after already losing the hole. This would be valid for the full hole challanges but might not be valid for other challanges where there is no par score to factor in.

I'm going to give the BB producers the benefit of the doubt and say that after introducing the eraser, they also declared that every shot must be played at the hole as if it was normal stroke conditions. He definitely should have laid up to the fringe and not tried to hole it from the crap, though.

I think the 295 was meditated. Glad he's out of the challenges.
What would they do if he putted it off the green in the normal stroke conditions? Disqualify him? I doubt they could stipulate that you could putt it off the green accidentally, but couldn't do it on purpose. Who knows though.
These are the same folks that have them hitting through glass and over walls. I don't think a "local rule" about the strike eraser would be outside of their scope of responsibility.

I'm not a fan of big Dave but I will make a guess on what happened with his 3 wood shot when he air mailed the green by 50 yards. I believe they said his actual distance from the center of the green was 245. I'm guessing he looked at the SkyCaddie in the bright Dominican sun and thought it read 295. Had the same problem with mine in mid day sun light. That said, he can stay on the bench as far as I'm concerned.

I'm going to be sexist and say I'm happy that this Big Break format allows me to see Sara, Elena and Christina all series. Also I was wondering if this series is ever going to end. It seems like it is going to take a long time.

Also don't get the Sara hating...she's fun to watch, hits the ball great, seems like a fun gal. Sure, she get's a little flippant at times, but she's a woman, what do you expect? I mean other that the fact that she must have run over Awsi's dog, she seems great.

One who has surprised me more is Elana - I was initially glad to see her on the show because she exited so early last time. Seems to have a good game, but really seems to be more bitchy than the others... to the point now she can go anytime.

Dave's last minute plan to chip in was flawed, I would have come up just short on the wedge and then attempted to chip in, got to be better odds that way. Kudo's to the guys for at least reminding him to try.

Not sure I care for this format over the elimination version, but at least we see the girls longer...

The producers blog indicates Elena has a matchup with either Anthony or Andrew next week, after their bench spat from this episode.

Elena probably hasn't helped herself so far, in terms of perception. Plenty of harsh commentary and not buffeted by warmth or humor. I still allow her some slack since it's a team event, which inspires sideline animosity and chatter. I might feel differently if she demonstrated similar tendencies at Sandals Resorts. But she was eliminated so early it was like she was an unknown quantity, other than bikini goods.

I don't get the Sara hate. Sure, she has some competitiveness in her, but nothing over the top. One guy I have been really impressed with, personality-wise, is Blake. It looks like he has done some much-needed growing up since his last appearance. Good for him.

And of course I am a big Brian fan. That guy just can't get out of his own way. He has the least mental game of anyone I have ever seen.

Final scores from the Arizona Women's Open: Lori - 69 T3, Sara - 71 T4, Blair - 75 T18. As is obvious Lori and Sara both played very well against a pretty strong field. And while I'm always a Blair guy she just has a terrible time breaking par. She's headed to LPGA final qualifiying in Dec.(along with Sara) but I'd be surprised if she makes it through. Even if she would get on a roll and get some Tour status I don't see her making many cuts shooting 74's. Oh well.

Okay so in the benching challenge they mentioned that he could take as many shots as he wanted, if he holed out, he got a strike eliminator. Why not chip it to the fringe, and try to bomb in a putt rather than flop it in from 60 yds? Actually, if the putt misses, why not putt it off the green and try again? Who cares if it's 30 shots, you're still safe. I'm guessing there's a bit more to the rules than "Sink it from off the green and eliminate a strike".

That makes a lot more sense...I would have still "walked" the ball up to a putting position before hitting the green.
Absolutely. But that is probably too much to expect from a guy that thought he was 295 instead of 195.

Could Brian even break 80? He seems to be a poser! These guys are not very good, better than me, but not very good!

No disrespect but don't knock someones golf game until you've tried golfing with a camera crew 8 feet a way from you. More difficult then it looks and some people handle it better then others. That said, Brian definitely gets nervous and hears voices in his head.:drinks:

These guys are not that good, especially with all the bravado they have. Like BarronDDS asks, how do they plan to play on tour if a couple of cameras impacts their play?

I root for the women. Yeah most of them are attractive, that helps, but they seem to be a lot more grounded in terms of where their golf games/careers are at this point.

Brian is a PGA pro, He passed his PAT test. Doubt he is the only golfer that has claimed he was going to do big things playing in a tour event.
