I saw a promo where Dave got very angry and threw a chair and stormed out of the confessional but I did not see this during the episode. Did anyone else catch it? Maybe I just missed it...
I saw that too. They must have cut it out along with actually playing some golf in the final show. That format was horrible.

I agree with you guys. That putt off idea was the stupidest thing ever. Decent drama though, and I guess that is what we are really getting, after all. Really cool that the men's MVP still got the exemption, not that cool that it was A-Rod because he rubs me the wrong way.
While the one hole playoff wasn't very fair, the girls really stepped up and made some clutch shots.

The putt off was the worst way to play for $100k. They should have gone right back to the tee. For some reason, I thought A-Rod was one of the more likeable people on the show this time around. There were a few instances where this wasn't the case, but he seemed to improve quite a bit from Mesquite.

I can attest that you are waaaaaay off base with this statement. Been on the bag in the same group on the last day of tourney with him. A-GOD will choke is n-sack off in a PGA event. Funny thing is, Brian verbalizes all of the things that Anthony REALLY thinks about himself. I was glad to see the ladies win, they had more nads in two of their players than did the entire mens team.

I've heard stories about him long ago (always secondhand), but never thought he was that big of a tool until pretty recently. I read your post a couple weeks ago about the tournament your son was in with him and that's when my opinion of him started to sour a bit. Especially with how he came off at points of the show, despite the editing.

Frankly, they need to get some real male talent on the show... some of those shots are a joke.

I'm not saying it's sad that the best talent on the show are women, but it really doesn't make it super enjoyable to watch. Granted, I know it's not golf... but it doesn't make it any less painful.

And then...he cried. "Oh my god. I'd like to thank myself for always believing in myself to be the MVP in a show with a bunch of also-rans!" -cue more crying..."I always knew I was the best". Obviously these are made up quotes by me, but you get the idea. Did he cry like a spoiled little girl when your 15 year-old son whooped his a**? God I hope so. How humiliating. The crying, not losing to your son who would most definitely whoop my a**.

Just finished watching the finale. Had to DVR it while I watched [s]the Victoria Secret Fashion Show[/s] Predator & Full Metal Jacket. I hated the format for the finale, but still enjoyed watching it. Congrats to Blair and A-Rod.

I concur that this was the worst BB yet. My guess is that they used the putt off for time editing even though it sucked big time.

Girls really took it up a notch to win the matches. Brian was such a tool yet he provided us with some great one-liners, he would triple the ratings on NBC if he got in the booth with Johnny Miller.

Good for A-Rod getting the call, I'll get to see his game in person next year.

Ugly episode for Brian. Senseless. At PEI he went out with an emotional emphasis of his love for golf. This was worst impression last, the opposite of what Blake accomplished. That diatribe gave away the final outcome, which I thought was fairly obvious throughout, based on internet enthusiasm from the ladies.

Tonight Brian's first clip was great, the "champion within two months" assertion. He should have stopped there. His golf earned new respect the past few shows but the vulgar dig at teammates was disgraceful. Brian was never as natural or warm as PEI but I didn't expect a condemnation like that. Initially I thought he had stewed through particular trouble with Andrew, then he widened to "lesser men" grouped.

This series was filmed during the World Cup. I wonder if that brainstormed the putt off? It was worthless, like penalty kicks. Were they packed to leave and couldn't play extra holes, the mowers already at work in the previous fairway? I'll appreciate the 9 or 18 hole head to head finishes the next time. As I posted last night, this was like a glorified episode 5, holes that would have meant very little now ousting players for good. But I was impressed they didn't jack the MVP points to 20 per hole or something similarly absurd.

Congrats to Blair, and RAD, her biggest fan.

The exemption was best suited to a younger player still aspiring to a pro career. What would Lori have proven? Best of luck to Blair in Q School finals next week. A player like that needs one big round somewhere, a 67 to counteract the inevitable shaky rounds.

Blair looked terrific while posed to hit the iron approach against A-Rod. They could have played that clip all day and I'm not sure I would have noticed the ball or the swing.

Christina will be enthused in her website blog, two clutch wins over Andrew and Blake. She still needs to shorten and tighten her swing, identical to message board consensus during Ka'anapali. Great competitor.

I was startled they divided the extra $50k by standing and not equally, $10k apiece. Blatantly unfair, considering it was touted as a team event and only the MVP separated.

A-Rod looked surprisingly content in the confessional, considering the team outcome never seemed promising. Good series for him and great twist at the end, the best Big Break consolation prize. I'll be interested to see if A-Rod pursues mini tours to keep his game in shape, after narrowly falling short in second stage Q School last week.

BTW, Sara the good person is in excellent position to advance after two rounds of Ladies European Tour pre qualifying, following a +3 round with -2 on Tuesday.

Im not sure if I was that in to this format. It did help the player you would hit a bad shot or have a bad hole from being eliminated.

Personally, thanks to this format, I really don't know if the right person won.

In most of the shows, I usually end up thinking, well they were probably the best player.... not sure this time.

Overall I thought the show was one of their 'funner' ones to watch. The competition, or set up of the format was probably the most lacking. I understand they wanted to have a 'full' finale with lots of competition but there is something very fitting about a one-on-one show down, played over a few holes.

This one just didn't have it. The MVP points system was a little weird.... I mean if you didn't get picked on certain events, I think it would be hard to make those up.

My hat's off to Blake. He -really- did become a much better sportsman. I wouldn't have believed it considering the way he acted in his show. Most of the guys were there for personality conflict purposes, but Blake pulled a 180 and he's a better player/person for it.

Brian. Can. Not. Be. Real.

Blair? I still don't know if she can play golf. It was just the nature of the show. Not a knock on her... just the set up of the show.

Well....I'm really happy that my girl Blair won but I'm still not a fan of this format. It just had a make-it-up-as-you-go-along feeling. That said, Blair made those putts when she had to.

Someone wondered if Blair can play golf. She's a scratch golfer, finished 2nd on the Cactus Tour money list this year, can probably out-drive almost anybody on this thread and is in the LPGA Q School finals...she can play. as Awsi mentioned Blair will need to go low a couple of times at next week's Q School to get some LPGA status. I'll be pulling for her.

Congrats to Blair after coming 2nd in PEI and then winning on this show is great to see and no doubt the best female won on this series, also I was very happy to see my fellow canadian play great in the last show good for Christina.

During the show when it went to commercial it showed a quick clip of Brian in the confession chair and he was trying to be arrogant as usual and he broke out laughing and I totally think that most of it is an act and nothing more and also I will defend him when the guys left him to go against Sara cause none of them wanted to play her and Brian was saying he can beat her and Andrew piped up and made a couple of comments to make Brian look small, If I was Brian I would have cold cocked him right there, Andrew is a ignorant arrogant and a tool and I am sure someone has knocked him one before.

WOW was that the same Blake all series, good for him with the new attitude.

Dave is an Idiot, Football is a good 2 handicap, A-Rod chokes under pressure, Sara Brown is going to be a great Duramed tour player forever, Elena is hot who cares about the golf, Lori not LPGA material, Giuliani will never make it on tour or Nationwide tour and is nothing without his last name, Blair might make it on LPGA but needs to work hard on her game, Christina probably wont play competitive golf, Brenda is horrible just go home, Blake needs a short game, and Brian well we havent heard the last from him. LOL

Blair is hot and the LPGA needs her. Sara Brown too.
I would add Christina to the list of ones the LPGA needs. Think she and Blair are the most attractive. Both need to shorten their backswings - especially on irons. With Blair's length, if she shortens her backswing and becomes more accurate, she could play on the LPGA.

I agree with all of that. Really good short summary of them. Christina has potential - if she tightens up her swing. If football is a 2, I wonder what Brian is?

I gotta give props to the girls here. They were under pressure situations and they made birdies. They deserved to win almost as much as the men deserved to lose. They win the closest to the pin challenge and get to pick the matchups. They screwed them up pretty bad. Why would you put Brian against Sara again? She is a better player than he is. Also Lori had just missed the green on the par three, when making the matchups they should have made her play another one with that miss fresh in her mind.

I agree that the format was horrible. Being that golf fans watch this show on the golf channel they really should play more golf. I know things must be edited but I wanna know if they play five holes but only show two. MVP points werent thought out well. I was happy about A-Rod getting an exemption, I hope he can do something with it.

I think the last show should have come down to the MVP winners on each side playing a 9 or 18 hole match. The winner wins it for his/her team and gets the extra loot. The format they used was horrible! why go through all the other shows to just erase the strikes?

On another note, I lost a little respect for Sara on this show. She was just not as cute and bubbly as she was on the other show.

What's with all the hate regarding the putt off? I thought it was good considering that's what separates the good from the sorta-good players in the big leagues - PUTTING UNDER PRESSURE.
Anyone can hit lots of fairways and greens, but it's on the dance floor where it counts.

Big Break Disney was my favorite as far as format was concerned. What better way to find the best golfer than by....wait for it.....playing golf? Gee, what a concept!

Most would argue that Gipper should have been in the final but guess what? He lost to the supposed weakest link, Kevin Erdman. This year, Andrew lost to Christina, who, if you ask Elena, didn't deserve to even be there.

IMO, it's not fair to the players to only give them one hole to prove their worth in the finale. They could have easily done a 2-hour show because as I remember it, the hour before the finale was last week's episode anyways. I think TGC could do without 1 hour of repeats at least once a year.
