Rocco Mediate holed out for eagle. Again. And again. And again. And again!

Rocco Mediate made four eagles by holing out an iron shot at the Frys.com Open.

He had a first round hole-in-one on the par-3 third hole Thursday.

Then he holed out from 160 yards Friday on the par-4 fourth.

Mediate holed out from 111 yards Saturday on the par-5 15th hole in round 3:

Rocco holed out for eagle Sunday in the fourth round with a pitching wedge from 116 yards:

The real disappointment here is that the win doesn't get him to the Masters. Watched as much of the tournament as I could and the last hour or so of Sat and Sun were flat out amazing. His playing partners must have been shaking their heads. "What did you make on the last hole? Eagle.... Hmmm, that's nice. Looks like I've still got the honor!"

First, being from Pittsburgh I love Rocco, he's the man.

Second, he doesn't shut up when he's on the golf course, a talker through and through.

Third, holy cow what a strange golf swing, close the stance, sway back with no arm rotation and lift, then sway forward swinging hard left and hit a nice push draw. Nuts.

Fourth, little known fact he went 2 years to California University of Pennsylvania before transferring to Florida Southern when Cal U dropped their golf program. Good ol' Harvard on the Mon.

The best part was when both his playing partners on Sunday drove the par 4 17th. Van Pelt put it 20 ft, and I believe Prugh almost holed out his drive, which ended up 18" for a kick in. Oosterhaus than says "well time for Rocco to hole another one", and in it went.

Actually I asked the PGA Tour media officials at Vegas and they said that 4 hole out eagles in one tournament by one player has happened before. I then asked for a name and never got it.

Just goes to show sometimes good things happen to good people. I saw the final round and loved every minute of it.
