My Deschamps PROTO review

Let me start by giving a great thanks to serge. He has been absolutly amazing durring this prosses. Also, Serge im sorry for the delay, it has been a hectic summer.

serge also included a care package to care for my putter and a canada headcover

Ok that being said here are the specs:

lenght: 34 in
loft: 2*
lie: standard
Head weight: 349.5 g (way to go serge i did not expect it to be that close to 350)
shaft: true temper
Grip: winn avs orange

STAMPING:
Cavity: A Shamrock C
Face: toe: A.C. heel: Shamrock
Sole: the Deschamps logo (S Canadian Leaf D)

These specs and stamps were every thing I asked for. More amazing Costumer service from Serge!

Ok now on to the review.

The Feel:

The feel of the putter is amzing. It is a very soft putter, softer then my terrilium and studio styles. I found it very easy to control the speed from within 25 feet. However from outside of 30 feet i found it a little inconsistent, maybe TOO soft. I LOVED the feel from within 5 feet. It was definatly one other best putters from within five feet that i have ever putt with. I have amazing confidence from within 5 feet because of the amazing feel paired with the very solid setup.

My rating out of ten 8.7 (lag putting brought this rating down)
studio style:9.0
TEI3:8.8

The setup/ alignment:

I have always been a fan of sight lines and most of the time I perfer more then one. But with this putter I dont think I could like the alignment any more. The two "wings" so to speak act as a great alighnment aid. Also with the solid looking top line these to aspect complement each other very very well. Furthere more the way the putter sits on the suface inspires performance.

My rating out of ten 9.7
studio style (with 3 sight lines) 9.5
TEI3 (also with 3 sight lines) 9.4 (plumers neck)

The misshits:

I conducted a "Misshit" test with the deschamps proto and my two gamers.

Results:
Deschamps: Toe job- ball went aproxamently 4 inches left and 2 inches short, heal shot- ball went aproximently 2 inches left and an inch short.
Studio Style: toe job-ball went aprx.1 inch left and relatively the same distance, heel shot- ball went 2 inches left and a few inches short.
TEI3: I had virtualy the same results with the TEI3 as I had with the deschamps.

Deschamps: 8.3
Studio style: 9.5
TEI3: 8.3

Overall ratings:

Deschamps:i give it a 8.9
studio style: 9.4
TEI3: 8.7

The conclution is that the deschamps proto is a very solid putter and it will be around for a wile.

oh man sorry guys! i was so happy to finnaly get this review up that i put it in the wrong forum.

 

Well i have made the desition to stick the putter in the fire at the up coming AJGA event at coto de caza! I will post a review about that shortly after The event so keep your eyes open.
