New 4 wheeler
Check out the new bag boy quad cart. It is pretty sweet, I got to play with it in the store today.

The rep was really bragging up how easy this cart pushes and how easy it folds up. It did fold up super easy but the rolling part is what I'm worried about. I'm thinking I will be getting this though instead of the clic gear.

Not available until April though but then again neither is the snow here.

I would think that 4 wheels have more resistance than 3 wheels. Looks nice though.

I saw this cart for the first time last week at a Golf expo in Sioux Falls and ordered one the minute i saw it folded up. When the Rep. showed a crowd of about 15 how easy it was to open and close and loaded up a cart bag full of clubs and pushed it around, I was sold. so were about 4 others. Room in my truck is limited and this will fit perfect. I to looked at the Clic Gear cart and thought I would buy it , but always had a hard time trying to open and close and just didn't like all the twisting and spinning. The other thing I liked about this cart is I have a stand bag and a this is the only cart with notches to hold the bag in place and won't twist, plus bags sit more upright for easy club removal.White is the hot color this year and this cart comes in 6 colors, Had to get the White...One thing the Rep. did say that makes sense, it the Tires are bigger than the Micro and will roll better. My friend bought one and that was a big problem, he say's it was hard to push in the rough.... Can't wait for spring.....

What do you mean? Why would a three wheeler turn better? You have to pick up both carts to turn and because a 4 wheel cart is not as long, I would think it's easier? No?

Yeah, I think no matter the footprint, with fixed axles you have to do a mini wheelie to execute a turn. I know that's how my Sun Mountain 3 wheeled Speedcart works.

As a matter of fact, that's why I like the way the brake locks the front wheel, if you have to make a quick exit, just pop a wheelie and scoot on outta there!

Not talking sharp turns, but pushing three-wheel carts around obstacles was a little easier. Could it be the balance or design of the carts? Sure. Weight distribution, flex, and other factors. I demo'd a SM Micro cart, and it just didn't turn/move as easily as my SMV2.

If you like it, get it. I didn't like it based on how it moved around the course.

The other caution I would advise it make sure the wheels are large enough. The SM Microcart wheels weren't as large as the Speedcarts. Made a big difference when going through tall, wet rough.

I am considering getting two new push carts, depending on weight. I saw a quad recently in a store, and didn't like it, neither did my wife. It feels heavier then 3-wheeled, and takes up more space. If I were to go to a 4-wheel push cart, I would then look seriously at a fully electrical cart with remote control. To my suprise it's betten tne new BagBoy and Clicgear, both at 199.

That's what I liked and this cart, Bigger wheels. My friend has a Micro and hatted how it rolled. BagBoy took notice and made the wheels the right size. This cart only weighs 15.9 pounds, so i don't know how it can weigh more than a speed cart. Plus, the size is much smaller....

I've never said SMVs are smaller than anyone's cart. I have a SMV2 and a ClicGear 3.0 and the only time I use the CG is when trunk/car space is an issue. Though it's heavier and larger, nothing rolls like the SMV2 with inflatable tires. I like that on the downside of gentle slopes on fairways I can just let it roll to a point where I catch up with it. In side-by-sides with every other cart I've done that against (I play with mostly walkers), the SMV2 outrolls them every time.

If BB has bigger wheels, then they've addressed a big design flaw. From there it becomes a user preference. I got both of mine at price points (free/gift for the SMV2 and $119.99 for the CG3.0) so I'm good with carts for a long, long time. Hope you get the same if this is the cart for you.

Agreed!

I've won contests with my SM1 !!!

Personally, I love the pneumatic tires. I check the inflation at the beginning of the season (Hopefully that's freaking SOON!) and they are good to go all year.

Com'on guys.. side-by-side free-rolling contest doesn't prove diddly. The two BagBoy I have free roll down hill plenty fast enough, and straight too, till turf influences them off line or slows forward movement, and both have solid tires. I am not a designer, simply, critical reasoning suggests when we push the cart, the pushing action to some extent affects how each cart behaves when loaded over turf conditions. The easy of one cart over another when loaded and being pushed has everything to do with design, "bearings", weight and turf conditions.

My roll tests have never included pushes. Just starting from the same point and rolling. Of course our bags are slightly different but probably not enough to have a significant impact. Even better, one of my regular golfing group members, has the exact same setup (we got a huge discount by buying clubs and bag at the same time a couple years ago) but just different carts. He happens to have CG2.0 and SM Micro. Neither, from the same starting point with no push - just gravity pull, has ever rolled further or staighter than my SMV2.

That's close enough in variable isolation for the eye-test to lead me to believe neither CG or the SM Micro outroll the SM Speedcarts. The front tires weren't the same size as the rear tires. Might have made it more stable feeling, but I think it impacts the roll performance. The front wheels are also closer together than the back wheels.

The one thing the SM Micro did better was fold up. It was smaller and easier.

Critical reasoning doesn't always lead to actual performance. Which golfer had the lowest average score in 2010 - Matt Kuchar. A fine golfer indeed, but not someone Vegas or many outside his family and friends would bet on to win tournaments. I like him in match play though - other golfers know he can sneak up on them.

You'd be right regarding reasoning and Kuch, as it's guessing the future. But, I have two push carts, and well aware of what affects them, and my buddy's SM, as they roll down hill. What ever it is, picking a cart because it rolled faster then another is not IMO a helpful fact. I am however glad you have the faster cart... but the question remains, can you beat your buddy score walking off 18???

I said farther but could just have easily included faster. Point is, the SMVs just roll better. I have a CG3.0 and just did a roll test yesterday. SMV2 wins again. I still like the CG, but it's my #2 for a reason.

As to scoring, I usually beat my buddies. When I don't, it's because they make me play from the back tees to make it competitive.

I'm sorry but 4 wheel carts suck with the small wheels. I tried the SM micro for a round and it was no fun. Went to the Clicgear 3.0 and that was still alot of work. Just exchanged that for a SM V1 and am one happy camper. Footprint is bigger but it rolls 10X better than the 3.0 and the 4 wheelers. Try before you buy...

I've the MicroCart and it is fine for me, and I went from a CG with the non-pneumatic tires. frankly i love the pneumatic tires, but I can't be bothered with them. My original CD had them.

So far differences in rolling, etc have been minimal. The Micro has just as small a footprint - major consideration for me - and a better bag holder design (IMHO). It also has the storage "bag" which is a plus. Just my .02¢.

Well I just bought the bagboy this afternoon on my way home from the course. I will post my review of the cart after a round which will probably be later in the week as it was snowing during my round today and still is. I'm super excited about the compact size, how quickly it folds up, ability to lower handle to my height and bettr stability as mine had problems tipping over on side hills.

Hope it is a smooth pusher.

WOW!!!! I'm impressed, now I should start by saying I've upgraded from an old bagboy that was 7 years old. Setup is awesome 1 hand 1 foot and this thing opens/closes so easy. It was raining tonight so I thought what better time to test it out. The umbrella holder was absolutely awesome, I've never had one before and man it is priceless. Stability wise it was rock solid and rolls true and I didn't have to align any wheel to make it go straight. It seemed to push just as easy as my bagboy which was just like the sun mountain V1 with air tires. It certainly didn't didn't steer any worse in fact I thought it seemed a little easier, just a little pressure on the handle left or right seemed to start a turn but not so little of pressure to be annoying. As to a roll test, sorry I forgot my radar gun and didn't want to carry my 100 foot tape to measure, let's just say it rolls just fine. It has plenty of storage for me then again I'm use to a cart with none, if I would say anything it would be that the box with a flip lid have a little bigger compartment as my friends new sun mountain seems bigger. The other minor annoying thing is my club brush that hangs from the handle was hitting me in the leg which it didn't on my old cart, I will change the length of the string and see if that fixes it. I love the handle though as I can make it fit my height and I don't have to reach up to push it so that could be the difference. The brake handle is also nice, I no longer have to step on the back wheel to engage or disengage it. I'm very impressed so far and think it rolls just as easy as a friends clic gear, sun mountain and my bagboy however I'm sure I will not roll test for pink slips anytime soon. Then again I could do with a little less roll as I've seen my old one run away from me into a creek, down to the bottom of a highly elevated green all with the same result, a loud crash and horrible oh cr&p my clubs just bit it again feeling. If I didn't have that front tire just perfect it was unreliable to just let it roll down the hill with any grade to it as it would get going so fast turn left and boom. Did I mention the umbrella holder!!!! So awesome, oh yeah remember to take the umbrella off before the clubs when your putting your clubs in the vehicle as it promptly tips over and the wind will play a good cat and mouse game with you and the brella.

I saw one in a shop today and it seemed a little flimsy. Anyone else notice this. I almost always play 36 and sometimes 54 holes and I carry a lot of extra stuff, like extra clubs, balls, cloths, drinks, etc. My bag gets very heavy and im a little afraid the quad wont last long. But I really like how small and light it is, and its so different than my clicgear and my sun mountain v2. Looking foward to hearing what others have to say about it.
