I appreciated reading your comments on the Bag Boy Quad Cart, since I am considering the Quad Cart and the Sun Mountain Micro-Cart.

One of the most common criticisms of the Sun Mountain Micro-Cart is its small wheels, which seem to get caught up in high rough and mud. Can you share any insights or feedback on this and how easily the Bag Boy Quad Cart cart rolls and maneuvers?

Thanks.

Mine rolls really good in the rough which so far has seemed to create the most resistance, I didn't notice mud or wet grass causing problems. It maneuvers very well and the only issue I have found to be troublesome is going up small ledges or the annoying ropes to direct carts away from the greens. A 3 wheeler was easier but I just pay more attention to obstacles now. I really like the cart though and glad I made the purchase, I've got about 10 rounds in with mine, oh did I mention how awesome this thing folds up and fits in my trunk it is AWESOME!

I don't own the QUAD but I have sold quite a few of them. And tbh. right now, its one of the best carts around. Easy to fold, easy to unfold, doesn't take up much space. It works. I think this QUAD cart will be good for BagBoy.

I'm sorry but 4 wheel carts suck with the small wheels. I tried the SM micro for a round and it was no fun. Went to the Clicgear 3.0 and that was still alot of work. Just exchanged that for a SM V1 and am one happy camper. Footprint is bigger but it rolls 10X better than the 3.0 and the 4 wheelers. Try before you buy...

What were you coming from for a previous cart? I think this plays a big roll in whether you like the 4 wheeler or not. If you're coming from something with huge wheels already then the 4 wheeler won't make you happy but if you're coming from a cheaper push cart like my Rockbottom one then the 4 wheeler (when I get it) will be a nice upgrade.

I noticed the current push cart I have has about the same size wheels as the SM micro and I didn't notice a huge difference in the BB Quad wheels.

Like I said I have a clicgear and a sun mountain and have used them both extensively and if all three got stolen and I had to buy another, I wouldnt even have to think about it for even a second I would without question get another quadcart. But thats just me. I dont see how anyone could hate the quadcart,...there just isnt anything to hate.

The Qcart has the same sized wheels as the SMMC. And, FWIW, they all stink out of heavy rough and mud. Want something easy to push? Play in the fairway. Also, I carry my bag or ride on very hilly courses. All push carts are difficult on hilly courses. I'd rather walk more upright than lean into a hill pushing my clubs.

I have the Quad and the tires are not the same size as the Micro, that was one of the biggest reasons I bought the Quad, it's rear tires are at least 2 inches bigger than the Micro. Have pushed both and the Quad is much better in the rough, both push good in the fairway. Was at a Golf Galaxy last night night getting some balls and they were sold out of the Quad and said it's been there best seller this year. No knock on walking, use to do it all the time, but have to admit, pushing is much better, and find myself having more energy through out the round, back feels better too.......

I just used my BagBoy Quad for the first time tonight at golf league on a wet, hilly course with thick rough. It rolled great. It opens and folds very easily. I also like the little bag that came with it that sits under the scorecard holder. It was nice to have my rangefinder right there.

Overall, walking the course with the push-cart was much easier on my back than walking and carrying. I am VERY happy with the purchase as long as durability is not an issue.

I’ve never considered purchasing a cart until recently. I have a nice carry bag but it’s getting a bit heavy and after renting a crappy pull cart during a recent round which my bag didn’t fit well on I decided it’s time to get my own cart.

I found a nice three wheeled bagboy on clearance and almost made the purchase until I saw the quad. Taking it down from a high shelve I noticed how light it is. One pull and the quad folds down really small, smaller than any three wheeler.

GoflTown has so many carts to compare including several quads, the Bagboy IMHO is the clear winner. So I purchase one today and got a great price on it at Golf Town, I drove immediately over to a course to play. The cart comes fully assembled. Right out of the box I just pulled it open and was ready to go.

This I like about it, again its light, folds really small, my carry bad fits on it very well. When its folded it will still roll, The bottom of the bag doesn’t need to be strapped in so the bag is very quick on and off. The Velcro top strap hold the bag firm and is really fast to strap and unstrap, it rolls very well smooth and easy, comes with cup holder and umbrella holder, your bag is positioned more upright than 3 wheelers and will stay dryer during rain. I like the pouch and places for balls.

One suggesting is to make the sizable pouch two levels so you could separate items.

I really like this cart and I know I will have it for a very long time. I read all the reviews I could find and played with all the other carts I could find in stores. I wouldn’t even consider other carts now, plus it is now priced lower than the competition.

JoeJoe,

My coworkers mom grabbed one there this past weekend at a great price. She is a small petite woman in her 70's, my friend asked me for advice and I told her I thought that one would be great for her because I found it to be much lighter then a ClicGear or Sun Mountain. She went to the store and really liked it.

After a full season of golf-league using this cart, I have to say I still love it. It rolls easy, is stable, the brake works great on uneven ground, and it is really convenient. The only negative I have found is that the drink holder is too small for a large gatorade bottle.

i've used the quad for 3 rounds now.. overall love it. rolls very easily in the rough, super stable with the 4 wheels. only complaint is I wish it had a 'locked' state when folded, but a minor issue.

I use riding carts on weekend mornings (mandatory at my course) but carry all the other times. Was getting a bit beat up carrying all the time at age 53 so decided to get a push cart, which is what 95% of the walkers at my club have. I looked really closely at the clicgear 3.0 and the bagboy quad and decided today to buy the bagboy quad. Deciding factors were the slightly lighter and more compact frame, and also, the way my various golf bags, both cart and carry, seemed to sit more easily and securely into the cart. I will say that both the clikgear and bagboy are great carts and a person probably could not go wrong with either. I was not buying on price but I did notice the bagboy quad was $50 less than the clikgear 3.0, after various sales and discounts.

I did also check out the SM microcart 2012 with 4 wheels, but the wheels were smaller than the bagboy quad, and also the overall look and feel, to me, was not as appealing.

One detail I did notice with the bagboy quad is that, using my large cart bag the SM c-130 which is the 2010 or 2009 model, the bottom edge of the side pockets do almost touch the front wheels, when everything is fully loaded. This is the case even when the front wheels are moved into the outer positions. I think this will be ok because there is still some slight clearance, and I don't plan to load up my bag with a bunch of clothing, etc. when I am not in a riding cart. The other thing I did was put a simple bungie cord in one of my sidepockets, and this can be used to gather in the c-130 side pockets at the very bottom, if touching the front wheels becomes a problem on the course.

Bought the Quad also. I use a stand bag because sometimes I still will carry for 9. I'm 47 and way easier on the back and knees.

I am looking for deals on a Bag Boy Quad right now. Hoping Golf Galaxy or Dicks runs a 20% off on single item sale or something close to it real soon so I can buy local. Golfsmith has 15 off but doesn't have this cart. Lame.
