The Honda Classic has been on for exactly five minutes and Kelly Tilghman has not stopped talking yet. Somebody get her a late-night talk show and get her off the Golf Channel

Its annoying but she is told to set the stage that way. when she has to do a color commentary she kicks into gear and motors it out fairly quickly from script. In fairness, she does it professionally.

Here we have a channel, devoted to golf (for crying out loud, it's even the name of the channel), and 95% of the topics about said channel are someone complaining about the announcers. Just goes to show you cant make everyone happy all the time. quite a sad state of affairs. I personally dont find any issues with any golf coverage, or the commentary involved. IF there was ANYTHING, it would be to show more players than one a couple of groups, but even that has improved lately. And even still, at least I can watch great golfers hit great golf shots. Sure beats watching whatever garbage my wife wants to watch.

What you should be complaining about it the 400th time I've seen the Frogger or V-Harness commercial. And by the way, KT (who is highly respected by her peers) has the greatest job security of any announcer at the GC. At least as long as Arnie is alive.

Seriously...the only person I have issue with really is Jim Gray. Kelly Tilghman... I like her. In fact, I think she is one of the most professional announcers on TV in any sport that I watch. Im quite sure she is very well respected amongst her peers. As far as what she brings to the broadcast visually...shes not all that, but she aint ugly either IMO.

I danced with Kelly at a club called Bananaz in Palm Desert about 12 years ago. The song was called "song 2" by Blur. She was a good dancer and the music was loud enough that I didn't have to listen to her talk! LOL!! Seriously though, she was very nice and the guy she was with bought our table a round. I've been a fan ever since.... well, at least I like to look at her... Club burned to the ground a couple years ago. Alas, only the memory remains...

I respectfully disagree. I'm a former sportswriter and journalist. Her attempts at being cute - the ridiculous alliteration, piling adjective after adjective on each noun and trying to tie every single thing into the next segue - are all bush league. It's Jim Nance on steroids. I find myself turning the sound off when she's anchoring the coverage.

If she'd just stop trying to sound so clever it would be bearable but she leaves her partners in a verbal no mans' land half the time.

It's not that I think it's easy. I know it's not. But she's developed a style that's very annoying. It's golf; you're not covering a riot. Step off the gas a little bit and give it room to breathe.

She's okay and would kick the OP's rear in golf. Are there 50 threads complaining about Kelly, do the archives go back that far? Old news.

Enjoy having the Golf Channel. She's knowledgeable about the game, gets a little syrupy (or Sir Nicky) once in awhile, but she's good at her job.

Agree with most of you, she's way too fluffy. I could vomit anytime she's talking about Pebble Beach, Augusta or Arnold Palmer... Terry Gannon's a good upgrade, too bad he's not on every week.

BTW - In Golf Magazine player poll, KT takes worst announcer by a huge margin every year, so Tour players don't like her either - just sayin'...

She's very annoying. I mute the tv when she's talking. Most of the things she mention has nothing to do with the tournament. She talks about the pros cars, houses, etc....WHO CARES! Her analysis is just horrible.
