Do you think that Tiger's putting woes (and his decision to use a Nike putter at the Masters) will have an effect on whether or not the Nike putters start selling?

If he made his 3-4 footers like he used to over the 4 rounds, he would've won.

do you think it matters what putter he uses or does it matter which putter he wins with?

Those who use Scotty putters will blame it on the Method! He is going to use what he thinks he has the best chance with! I doubt if he cares if it says method or scotty on it!

Well 3 out of the past 5 majors have been won with a Method in the bag. So as far as performance in majors they are doing great.

I think that the heel shafted Method will work better for the new swing that he is implementing. With the putter he has been talking about utilizing more of a release style of putting. I believe he will get that will the heel shafted Method over his Scotty.

However, it is tough to banish a putter that won 13 majors.

Actually you missed last year's majors so its 3 of 9 (which is still very good)

I dont think it will hurt the sales of the Method because Tiger couldnt putt with his Scotty either. I
f Tiger learns how to putt again and wins with the Method, they will propably sell and if he switched back to the Scotty the Method will probably fail.
IMO, all the wins with the world isnt going to make a lot of people give up their Camerons though...

Anyone else find it funny that he started using the Method putter because St. Andrews' greens were SOOOO slow, and yet used the same type of putter at Augusta? I'm guessing different face/model to get the different paces, but still....

I agree with GoBucky, "all the wins with the world isnt going to make a lot of people give up their Camerons". Scotty makes a very high quality club and has a very loyal following. I think their reputation speeks for itself.

Its not the putter, it's Tiger. In 2001 he could have used the putter Adam Sandler used in Happy Gilmore and been successful. I game a Scotty and have rolled the Method and liked it but right now it doesn't matter what he's got in the bag because his stroke is gone. Hopefully he finds it at some point.

I think if Scotty Cameron's were priced below $200 like 90% of the other putters on the market they wouldn't be near as popular...it's all a prestige thing...Just because he makes awesome custon one off putters for guys on tour, we think because our putters say Scotty on them we are going to put like a pro...not the best place to post this but hey just my opinion

The method is defiantly a great putter, but I agree, no one is going to give up their Scotty because of tiger. I have several that I rotate, and until they all stop working, they're not going anywhere.

It was the same model, but he had the grooves softened on the face so that the balls came out slower.

I agree. They're great putters and I have a Scotty, two Methods and a Byron. They get a lot of undeserved criticism because of previous Nike putters but these things are the real deal. You'd think Nike would do a little more to highlight the major winners stat. That should be the main marketing message for the year, IMHO.

Last year two pings and two odysseys won, so its 3 of the last 9 majors

Its amazing watching him putt now compared to before. His stance is different, his posture is different. Stroke is different.
