TGC is starving for content and this could be a real home run for them.

Yes. I will take the "most unique" David Faherty over the "most unique" Donald Trump any day. I just hope Faherty washes his hair prior to the show. For all of you language gurus out there, maybe we should start a discussion of the phrase "most unique". My teachers said one should use the phrase "more nearly unique than ..." because after all, unique is, well, unique. But I am willing to stipulate that Faherty and Trump may well be unique, even if in different ways.

I would rather listen to my Mother-in-law than Johnny Miller! When he goes into his glory days rants and starts with the "he hit that 2 grooves to high on the face" and then slo-mo shows him puring it, I want to scream!

I was afraid that TGC would become an NBC step-son when that relationship was announced earlier this year. However, it seems TGC is the winner here by being able to tap into both NBC and CBS talent as needed. Good move. I just hope more Feherty does not mean a watered down Feherty.

Feherty can be a little much at times, but he's one of the better guys involved in golf on TV. McCord is horrible.

Hearing him and McCord on the first tee of the Tavistock Cup was one of the funnier things I've seen on tv in a while.

Feherty is awesome.

McCord IS horrible.

Course, McCord is OK when he just calls the action without the shallow, unsophisticated commentary that is (thankfully) unique to him. I know third graders that are more sophisticated than McCord. The question I have is, who the heck keeps this moron on as an analyst? It's embarrassing.

I really grew to like McCord and Feherty through Tiger Woods PGA 2005 on my PS2. If I had cable I would totally watch this show

Actually, in the promo commercial Feherty looks more disheveled than Mark Burk at any point. One poodle trim wouldn't cut it.

Not a fan. I may watch. Unlike Trump or last year's Daly show, it's not obvious how Feherty will be presented or what angle he'll take. Maybe they'll nail it.

Still hoping for a Johnny Miller vehicle, now that Golf Channel has aligned with NBC. He predictably dominated the program tonight, alongside Jacobsen and Nobilo. Miller should have called the Kentucky Derby last week, once Durkin stepped aside.

I watched the first episode tonight and thought it was nicely done. My favorite Golf/Golf Digest articles are usually the featured interviews and I think the TV format worked well. Looks like Feherty has some interesting characters lined up for upcoming shows.

I think I'll [i]only[/i] be watching for [i]real[/i] golfers. Lee Trevino was [b]awesome [/b]tonight and hope Feherty can get the true characters of the game or someone with a compelling story. Guys like [b]Don Cheadle[/b] and [b]Charles Barkley[/b] don't cut it for me but they bring in viewers I guess. I will [i]snap[/i] if there's an interview with Darius Rucker! The amount of airtime he's get on that channel is beyond me.

It was a very good show when Feherty wasn't left alone. Trevino is always interesting and Feherty is a surprisingly good interviewer, other than post round with Tiger, when Feherty fawns over 3 putts as a "great 3 putt."

From the promos I expected considerably more depth in Trevino's analysis of Tiger's swing.

Otherwise the episode was painful. I can't believe Golf Channel actually approved the opening segment, which was more forced than Dennis Miller at his worst. The man on the street portion was similarly inept, likewise the long overdone Harold Henning segment which featured the most obvious conclusion of all time. Sorry, if you aim to be bizarre you better be Monty Python caliber. Otherwise it's a sad flop.

I'll continue to watch. He's got good interview subjects. Ten minutes from them can offset Feherty mangling the solo scenes.

It reminds me somewhat of "Being John Daly." There are train wreck aspects of John Daly we don't need to see. Similarly, David Feherty passed his peak years and years ago when he sensed he was expected to be funny every time he spoke. The subtle occasional lines were brilliant in his early days on CBS. Nowadays it seems fans rave over Feherty because they think they are supposed to.

Surprised not to see some talk about it on here. I really enjoyed the show and thought the interview with Trevino went very well. The previews of future shows sure seemed to cover some pretty good topics. Looks like a good additional the Golf Channel lineup.

They should cut it down to a 30 minute show. I thought the Trevino interview was great but the rest of it was fluff and was kind of all over the place. It seemed like weird cross of Andy Rooney, Being John Daly, Chris Hanson, and a Robin Williams stand up bit.

Cheadle was on "playing lessons with the pros" and was very entertaining. I think it was with Charlie Hoffman.

He said there are 4 stages to being an actor:

"Who is Don Cheadle?"
"Get me Don Cheadle"
"Get me a Don Cheadle type"
"Who is Don Cheadle?"
