Tell me what you think
I just got my 33" mid-size grip heavy weighted Kombi S. What a beautiful looking putter. Distance control is equal to my Newport 2.6 but more forgiving & easier to line up my putts. What else could I ask for.....I wish they came in black but that is my only complaint only because knowing they are out there but just used on the tour unless you want to pay an arm & leg for one.
The feel is so smooth & no problem making a good stroke on the ball. I forgot how good a face balanced putter felt as I tried so many different mallets as nothing beats the Kombi S. I know many will like the original Kombi or the S model for feel but it is too big for me to get used to. So this not only has the looks but also feels equal to any other Cameron putter in the line up. My back-up putter will still be my Newport 2.6 but the Kombi S kicked out the Laguna 1.5 as I couldn't get used to the toe hang. Just made it harder to line up my putts but beautiful putter.
So back to a mallet as I see this beautiful relationship lasting all summer long & maybe next year they will release the black ones. Ok yes Im a Cameron addict so let me hear some of the success stories what you gamed before & why the switch. My 1st round I only got in 9 holes due to my hectic job being on call Argh! but Wow! I had a chance to do much better as I was surprised at the ones I missed. Not gimmes but when I saw a few of them lip out I was wondering..... switching back to a mallet might take some getting used to. Then I noticed I had 5 (1) putts for a total of 13 putts & a 33 -2 under. So very pleased & no other putter has got me this excited before. Almost like when I bought my very 1st Scotty as I'm sure every Scotty owner remembers that feeling.

I am considering the Kombi S right now. It looks and feels very nice.

Do you know if they will do custom lofts? I would need less loft than the 4º standard.
[/quote]
Yes they will custom your lofts as it may take a little longer but mine arrived in 10 days which was quick.

Unreal putter...stayed in my bag for over a year now which is double the time anything else has stayed in the bag. The most underrated aspect of the putter is ease of alignment. Can't say enough good things about it.

As for the black kombi-s....I plan on sending mine to putter lounge this winter for them to put their black finish on it

I like my kombi s but am really thinking I like more of a blade. I actually went opposite and did my kombi s in a white finish with black alignment. It looks freakin amazing but I may be letting her go soon.

The Kombi-S is battling for a spot in my bag with the Newport 2.7. i like face-balanced putters, and although neither of these are exactly face balanced, they are very close. They feel similar to me, very solid, and impeccable build quality, it's just a question of blade vs. mallet for me. i like the mallet for short putts, but i like the blade for longer putts and overall distance control and precision. tough call. but yes, the kombi-s is a great putter.

Getting one next week and looking forward to it. Got ride of a laguna and a 2ball backstryke to get it. The studio stainless laguna with the .5 neck was a beautiful putter but never suited my stroke. The 2 ball did, but the "ting" noise started bothering me (or was it the missed putts + the ting noise?). I demoed a kombi s for a round last week and immediately sold the others. Here's hoping for a long honeymoon.

My 34" heavy weighted (355g) Kombi S just arrived yesterday, and today's forecast is for rain, so I can't wait to hit the course with it tomorrow. I've been gaming a Futura for nearly 7 years, except for one season where I really tried to make a Newport 2 work out, but I'm just a mallet guy.

It's funny, since ordering the Kombi S, my putting has gotten better with the Futura, so I'm a little apprehensive about making a switch so close to my club championship. We'll see what a few practice rounds brings.

Same thing happened to me with a Spalding Mills I used in my club member guest. It got really, hot, then I got the Kombi, struggled for a round, and now it's working great. Post back and let us know how it goes.

ive had the kombi S heavy for nearly a year now but ive been putting so good with a method 003 ive never taken it out except for 1 or 2 times. those 2 time were distance problems that you would never believe. i bought it because it felt so great in the store and i drained quite a few long puts but i know the store makes their putting greens angled to the holes to make you think you make some good puts. for 4 rounds straight ive been having issues with the method so i took the kombi s out. WOW, the balance is unreal. i had no issues with distance and made 4 birdies from 20-25 feet. the extra long alignment mark worked wonders. the feel is great. the weight is great. i wish i started putting bad wih the method sooner

I wish they would release a CS kombi with maybe even a smaller head size than the s. Almost like the size of the red x, just a tad bigger.... I would be all over that.

Well, I've posted a half dozen rounds with the Kombi S (Heavy) and I'm thinking it's not the club for me. Specifically, I'm just struggling with releasing the putterhead. For a 15-20 foot putt, no problem, but when I get inside 8 feet, I'm finding that I'm just pushing everything, as if the weight of the head just is not catching up with my stroke. I'm two thirds of the way through our club championship, and I'm seriously debating putting the Futura back in the bag for the final round, but only if I can get out and play a few rounds first, to re-adjust to the weight difference.

Too bad, I really like the way this putter feels, but if I can't get the ball into the hole, I've got to move on.

Update: 2 of my last 6 rounds have been on wet courses, but I've been putting like a demon. And on anything inside 8 feet, I'm confident its going in the hole. Curious how it will be on a super slick green, but 3 putts are a distant memory so I have no concerns.

Well to my surprise I decided to keep my Newport 2.6 but the Ghost Spider center shaft just replaced my Kombi S out. Wow if only they would sell a black center shaft Kombi S I would come back. It was a nice putter but not as nice as far a results go as with my new Ghost CS Spider.

I have a question for anyone who is still paying attention to the Kombi discussions.

I have tried both the Kombi and the Kombi S, but in separate stores. My question is: besides the size, how do they differ in feel?

Because I couldn't try them side by side, I couldn't really know the difference, but I was thinking that the Kombi S felt a little more solid and less "tinny." Would that be an accurate observation to you guys?

I am thinking about buying one and then putting in a shaft that has no offset (this is a preference of mine, but I don't really like the look of center shafted putters.) Anyway, let me know what you think about the difference.

Thanks in advance.

I just received my Kombi S, Heavy model. So far, I am in love. I putted with several in the stores, but none of them were to my specs, so I had to order one. I am not disappointed. Here's my review:

If you've putted with the original model, the common complaint was that it was a little tinny feeling and sounding which, for many, hurt the distance control. I had demoed the Kombi model for a while and quickly switched back to my regular gamer the Rossa Corza, which has been in my bag for 3+ years. I ordered the Kombi S with my specs, and funny enough, while I was waiting, I have been putting better than I ever have in my life with my Corza. This was due to some advice that I received that started making sense to me.

So, it's actually going to take quite a bit from the Kombi S to knock the Corza out of the bag.

The putter that I bought is the Kombi S, 355g 34 inch. (It seems that the 34 inchers have been on back order since these things came out.)

First impression...
The Kombi S feels MUCH better than the original Kombi. It is a different kind of material that just feels more solid. The sound is much more solid and less 'holliow' and tinny than the Kombi.

The Kombi S is also more compact. Not too much larger or different in dimension than my Corza.

The Kombi and Corza models are preferred by me because of the alignment line. On short putts, I do not use the alignment line on my ball, as I find this to be inaccurate. (i can write a post about this later) I am far more accurate from 6 feet and in by aiming the alignment line on my putter with the chosen line of my putt. So, the longer and more pronounced the alignment line, the better for me.

The Kombi S has a tremendous balanced feel to it. It certainly has enough weight further back in the putter to promote a very smooth stroke.

Sound is hard to describe, but when you go and try out putters, the sound combined with the feel tells you a lot. In fact, I believe that sound is the most underrated factor in choosing a putter that will putt well for you. The original Kombi had a tinny click to it. My Corza has a hollower 'clock' to it, and side by side with the Kombi S, the Kombi's tone is just a tad higher and sharper than the Corza. However, the Corza's pitch changes depending on how hard you hit it. The Kombi S stays very close to pitch but changes in volume. This is interesting to me. The sound of both putters is pleasing and both give good audible feedback.

I personally did not buy the Kombi S, for its forgiveness and MOI. I am trying very hard to hit all of my putts in the center of the ball, on the sweet spot of the face. The Kombi does feel very solid on a large portion of the face, as do most high MOI face-balanced putters.

Overall, I think that the Kombi S is going to be a great step from the Corza for me.

I am personally excited to pull the shaft and insert a shaft with no offset to see how this putter works with that type of set up.

I LOVE face-balanced, no-offset putters, the look and feel both work great for me. This is what I have done with my Corza, my Yes! putter and a couple others that I have modded and built. The No-offset with the Kombi S might be the ULTIMATE gamer for me.

mine is soon to be in mothballs . . . i've lost total confidence on the greens. While I understand it's the Indian, not the arrow, I've never had such a putting funk as the one I've been in the past two months. Time to reconsider the stick - it just might not be right for me.
