scratch in the UK ???

Was looking at getting a set of scratch wedges to replace my current ZTPs (52 56 60)

i know id be buying them without hitting them but from the rave reviews on here its worth a shot

 

Does anyone know where i can get them on the internet in the UK, i know scratchs website does post here but its around £100 and theres no way im paying that ridiculous price lol

you won't find them cheaper than that in the UK from any Scratch dealer, you might pick up some used one's from the BST, but new custom built to your specs £100+

Actually the one's he is advertising for £95 are the old JLM forged wedges , but i think he only as 60 degrees left

Well considering I bought them from the US originally for less than that including shipping and customs taxes yes it rather laughable

So you did well then if you bought them new. It is usually the case that once you add on import duty and tax to the purchase price and shipping cost you don't end up making much of a saving. I believe the cast are selling for $99 in the US, so £99 in the UK would not be extortionate.

The trick is to send via a recorded service so you know where the items are but value them at under £40 so its classed as under the tax bracket so you dont get hit or if they do charge you its very minimal then all you have to worry about are the ***** at parcelforce who charge you £20 for handling the items, according to my currency app the current price would then be £61 so £95 is a large mark up on the wedges

Doesn't always work and you still have shipping on top of your £61. In addition, the Companies who import to sell are not trying to sneak them in past customs. They are not making an excessive markup.

Yes but you combine the shipping when ordering more than one so you pay the £61 for the other wedges and say £90 for one wedge (inc shipping) so you're still making a decent saving, even if you did incur customs and handling it would be £35 so if you order 3 wedges you still save £30

Unless you got stung on VAT for the full value.

Anyway, if you got a good deal then good for you - I was just saying it doesn't always work out that way and that was based on experience. It's nowhere near as easy as it was 30 years ago when I was importing Nintendo games from the US to sell at school!
