Alignment Sticks

You always see those two sticks in a lot of pros bags, even during a round. I'm guessing they are some sort of alignment aid? Anyone know for sure, and what brand etc..?

Brand- Lowe's. They are just driveway markers.

Thanks Pinhigh. Do yourself a favor and pay 1 dollar for them instead of 15 dollars at a golf galaxy. Got to Home depot or Lowes by the signs and driveway markers.

There are a few different brands. The ones that I have are called focus sticks. They run right around $15 dollars, but like pinhigh27 said, they are basically just driveway markers and you can get them at places like lowes for a couple of bucks. I use mine whenever I hit balls and they really help with my allignment issues.

i have the tour version home depot ones but were on clearence for .99. i got my permanent marker out and put tour use only and sell them out of garage for 25.

Except many of us City guys don't even have driveways :-)

I was in our local Golf Big Box place, called Golftown, ast week and saw the "pro" alignment sticks. I swear they were exactly the same as the ones I got at Lowes - right down to the matching coloured ruber cap thingy on one end. They were (I think) $29.99 for three and I got my three for around $10 - scandalous .....

I am in N.California and you can not get them here unless you get them online. Not even in Tahoe can you get them. I went to every lowes and home depot and called everywhere. Just find them online and save your time. I will say they did wonders for my game. They really helped me get my swing to come from the inside and got rid of my slice when I was a new golfer. I now use em to keep from coming from the inside to much. You can also stick them in the ground. There might be a book of all the drills you can do with those sticks. I see titleist is painting there own for there tour guys now,

Really? Maybe the season? I picked mine up at Lowe's in Palm Springs the last time I was there.

i got mine from RDunns and they were about $7.00 a piece. before that, i went to home depot and lowe's and didn't see any there.

If you buy used, call Home Depot and they will match serial numbers to make sure they are authentic driveway markers, and not some Chinese ripoff.

Alignment sticks =

Play with a really bad golfer until he breaks 2 shafts off just above the hosel. Steal his broken shafts. Spray paint them white. Poof ----- alignment sticks!!!!

I have 2 of these. They work just fine and were free : )

1 of my playing bubbies hits so steep into the ball that he WILL break shafts, and they were both drivers : )

Word of warning - if you are keeping your sticks in your bag, don't drive to another shot with the headcover off your driver. My friend got his driver all scratched by his alignment stick doing so! Also, they will stick out and scratch anything they come into contact with. Just be careful!

Because iron shafts are not uniform.

Also the head gets in the way.

+1 You can also use one of the other 13 clubs in your bag, LOL. Also you can use an umbrella, a dowel rod, you can roll your towel up.

Glue the rubber caps onto the sticks. The rubber caps fall off leaving a very sharp cut end - it's flat, but the edges are sharp. That cut end slides up your driver headcover and gouges off the crown's paint. It happens to people constantly. I guess that's the one benefit to the $15 rip off versions -- the caps stay on.

Thanks for the heads up on gluing the caps on. I just got my first set today. I've been working on my game and trying to break 90 for quite some time now. Hoping that adding some more focused practice and drills will help. Anyone have any advice on the best alignment stick drills to do for a high capper to start with? I figured I'd start with the obvious laying the sticks on the ground to get lined up and set my feet correctly. Anything else that people have found to be exceptionally effective?
