Anyone ever try this website for a ball fitting? It seems odd to do it through a website but if you get the annual subscription, it keeps your info allowing you to update it and also compares you info with new balls that become availible. I am considering trying it out or doing a ball fitting at Golf Galaxy. If anyone has any experience with either, I would like to hear your thoughts.

I checked it. Very well put together, but I don't see how they can suggest a ball unless they put you on a machine to get the corrrect launch, speed, etc.

HAHA! I wish! The same search that helped me find this forum yesterday also resulted in me finding that ball fitting site. I'm just curious if its a waste of money or not.

I think that if you join, you can input that information and that info, along with some questions is how they come up with the list.

Getting the launch monitor numbers is the most crucial part of a ball fitting. You have to know what type of ball you are getting those numbers with and get some good consistent results with the driver. Most places won't just let you jump on their launch monitor and get some numbers. The golf galaxy ball fitting is actually not a bad deal, just make sure you get the printout afterwards.

So I went to golf galaxy for a ball fitting today. It turns out that they only use the numbers for a driver for the ball fitting. I asked if I could hit some iron shots and they said no. I asked "what's the point of a ball fitting without hitting any irons?". He replied "that's how we do it." It seems useless to me.

I have always found paying for a ball fitting to be ridiculous. Doing some simple research on this site can narrow down your search to a couple balls for you to try on the course. A golfballselector.com membership is not necessary but I do like their sister site golfballtest.org with their blog and compression testing.
