Loft vs. Launch Angle

I'm about to make the switch from my 905T 9.5 w/ Grafalloy Blue to a 905R 8.5/9.5 w/ V2-77g. My question was how much more of a launch angle does the 905R have over the 905T? I love the trajectory I get with the 9.5 905T, but have heard that the spin and launch angle are greater with the 905R. So should I stick with 9.5 or go with 8.5 to tray and gain a similar launch angle as my 905T? I know most of you will say that I should go to a launch monitor and see for myself, but unfortunately that's not an option for me right now. Any comments on the flight of the 905R or anything else would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

I have the 905R in both the 9.5 and 10.5 degree withthe V2 76g shaft in stiff.

I actually did some work on a launch monitor earlier today and was getting around 12 degree launch with 3K to 3500 spin rate. Clubhead spead of 105 to 110. This was with the 9.5 degree.

I used to hit a 905T and a 905S and found the S better suited; felt I hit the T higher.

Obviously, our angle of approach could be different (I get in trouble and hit incredibly high when I flip my wrists on occassion).

Anyway, I found the 905R to fit in between the T and S as far as my personal results go on the course. The launch monitor today seemed to confirm that.

Hmmm... tough to say. The Blue, even though it is a pretty stout shaft, is fairly lightweight. The added weight of the V2 76 may bring down your launch a little. I find it launches pretty high with the V276 9.5º I have, but it does not balloon on me. Played in 25-30MPH winds last weekend and it cut through them very well. My SS is 108-110 MPH. Flex is right on for me. A lower tee height with this driver also varies the trajectory. If I tee it up and hit up on it I can put it in orbit with this club. Any struggles with too high or too much spin with your current setup? If so, then definitely the 8.5º. I'm lucky in that I don't spin it a ton, so I can get away with a little more loft and launch angle.

I started out with a 10.5º/NV 65 stiff and hit moon balls. Thought it was terrible. Lower loft and different shaft have me absolutely loving this driver. It's really surprising how forgiving it is over the 905T even. Pretty loud in comparison, but the results are there, and you tend to get over it quickly when that happens.

I just switched from the 905R. I loved it, but I had the 9.5, 76g V2 stiff shaft, and it was high. At first it wasn't as bad, but it began to bring inconsistencies to my driving. I ended up losing around 10-12 yards from my 983K. So, I switched to a 905S, 9.5 with a stiff speeder, and am having success with it. It's a much more boring trajectory, and is long for me.

I had hit a 905t 9.5 , went to the 9.5 905r same shaft. Hit the ball much higher. I am ordering an 8.5 same shaft on monday.

My 9.5* R w/ V276 goes sky high. Goes a looooooooong way though. Wouldn't say its a ballooning flight, but its high :D

Will the V2 spin significantly less than the NV-65 in this head? I currently have the 9.5 with NV and have finally accepted that this combo launches WAY too high and spins too much for me. While extremely forgiving and accurate for me, all I do is hit moon balls that fall straight out of the sky. I usually hit a 65g shaft in my driver but hit the mid-70g V2 in the simulator and liked the feel. Will it make that much of a difference?
