Anything dry around Boston?

Anything dry in the Boston area, played at Putterham in Brookline over the weekend and it was soaked almost unplayable. Anyone know of courses that draining better and a bit dryer?

Courses south and more towered the cape. Try crosswinds pinehills or Atlantic.... Don't know how far you want to travel, but tear will e less wet

Putterham has the worst drainage of any local course (which is not really their fault, it was built on a swamp). Just about anywhere else will be drier.

Played Granite Links in Quincy yesterday -- despite the rain (and snow) on thursday, the course was soft but very playable. It drains quite well given its hilltop location.

Pinehills sent out email today that they got no snow and are open. Boston courses twittered that they were closed, but there's no snow to speak of on the ground here.i practice at Billerica during the week and the fairways are covered.

I received the same email...and the weather looks good this week. $60 on weekdays and $70 on weekends.

I played Pinehills yesterday. Everything was a little bit soggy, but it was definitely playable. Fairways were aerated (Nicklaus) and the greens were probably 80% back to normal from aeration.

Talked to Newton Commonwealth they are having trouble with 14-17 being unplayable hoping they might be able to play tomorrow. Said it might be open for nine holes.

Having played that course before 1-18 are bordering on unplayable in any weather! :cheesy:

They are also in the middle of reconstructing the the 7th tee and the 18th green. Tough shape.

Even with the Newton resident that course is simply not worth it. $5/18 is about what it is worth.

Newton Commonwealth is an acquire- convenient course, I think for me. But the redesign of few of the holes, really threw me off this year. That being said, I always thought it was in good shape? Keep in mind, I am relatively new to serious golfing (not drunken charity once year type I use to be).

I went to Presidents in Quincy today, and it was probably 85% dry, not a bad twilight price to play after 11. They just aerated also which was annoying, but the course was pretty good for November.

Newton Commonwealth is only in "good" shape if compared to the real dregs like Leo J. Martin. In the universe of golf course conditions, Newton Commonwealth is probably in the bottom 15%.

Granite Links was in good shape this past Sunday. Some areas in some fairways which were soggy below the turf but not seeping. Greens were good, maybe slightly less consistent than usual there.

South Shore CC was also in good shape last week right after the storm. Greens looked a bit scraggly but ran fast and relatively smooth. A few soggy areas around the course but no ground under repair that I can recall.

Well with these great few days, I hope you guys got out there. Played Mt. Hood Monday, everything was in good shape, was for a charity event, and it held up well after the last fews rains. I also got to play Hillview CC today, first time playing there, it was really nice course (couple of short par 4's, not a terrible thing for me), and in great shape.

Played Pinehills this weekend, the course was in great shape. The greens, despite the recent punching, rolled quite well; far better than they looked like they would.
