Belly Putter suggestions

Hi All,

 

I'm looking for suggestions on belly putters. I putted a few years with a Scotty Futura belly, and putted well with it until it was stolen. Went back to a short putter since. So now I'm back to looking for a new belly putter. I was planning on going to the Yes! studio in Denver to get fitted, but just found out they are now longer there.

 

So looking for suggestions on putters, and also, anyone know of any places in Colorado that does fittings?

Kombi, ping craz-e or b series, odyssey 2-Ball or new dart mid.

I put with a Kombi most of the time. I had a Yes Emma and like the look of the head but every Yes mid or long putter I've had in my hands was much too light as if they stick a long shaft in the standard length head.

Thanks for the heads up on Yes. Do you know what the head weight was on the Emma?

I've had great success with all the odyssey line bellys

I have a mint 2ball for sale

I've trried others never comp,ping the odyssey work well with me

I never had it off the shaft so I can't really say. I like heavy, heavy putters and I jerked that thing all over the place. Just wasn't for me.

Igot fitted with a Kombi-S with a ski pole shaft. I was a Newport 2 user for a few years and this was a smoother transition than going to the Kombi or Oddeesy. I love it and enjoy the consistency with the easy putts. I would suggest going to golf digest list of top 100 fitters and see who is in your area. I paid 50 for the fitting at my location. Made that club playable right away. Plus for 30 bucks they put on a custom grip and new paint fill. Custom Stix FTW!

I converted a Guerin Rife 2 bar mallet from 36" to 46". I really like the putter as the shaft lie angle is adjustable. I've been averaging under 30 putts per round lately

Thanks for the suggestion. I never had luck with the short 2 ball, so not sure if a belly would fit my any better.

I'll take a look at the Kombi-S. I too like the anser style heads, and that's what I would be coming from.

Thanks for the suggestion. Guerin Rife Hybrid was actually the first belly I bought after my other belly got stolen. I bought it off the bay, but it didn't have the lie adjustment tool with it. So I was never able to get it adjusted right for me, so I sold it. I did like the way it felt off the face, but just didn't work for me at the time. Might have to look at them again if I can get it properly adjusted.

Anyone have any luck with Heavy Putter's in a belly. I had a short Heavy putter for a little while, and some what enjoyed it. Had no idea they made belly's.

What about Bettinardi's? Had no idea they made belly's either.

I have a Corza ghost that I converted to a belly and I love it.

I got fit at the Denver PGA superstore and it was a pretty simple process. They extended my Odyssey white hot tour #7H and set it up to my specs for about $20. It's been fun to practice with but it may be a bit light so if your thinking about extending a short putter to a belly, you may want to look for a model with removable weights like a TM spider or another model where there is room for lead tape without being too ugly. There isn't really any space on the 7H for lead tape so I'm not sure what to do yet. Oh yeah, merry Christmas to all you WRXers!

i agre with Matt_thatsme. THey do a good fitting process that if you buy at their studios is free. For $300 a custom belly and fitting is worth it IMO

I finally made my way to the Denver PGA Superstore. What a store! Staff was nice on top of it.

How did they fit you in terms of length, loft, and lie?

Been searching for a while to find a SC Futura Belly to replace mine that was stolen that was in good condition, and finally scored one off of the bay. It was hard finding one that was in good condition as well as one that wasn't converted. Figured for a $100 I can't go wrong with something I was familiar with.
