GPP Golf sells a used club marked as new

People returning items they have used is a common occurrence. I can't tell you how many times I've heard chicks talk about buying a dress to wear one time to an event and returning it.

In the golf world same thing applies especially on Ebay. That's one of the biggest complaints from club sellers. Guy buys club, hits it, then files claim through paypal stating the item was previously used. Concerned with their feedback, and payment held, sellers have no recourse and now have to "eat" the return. Scum of the earth these people are. Moral of the story....check your stuff...shop worn/used gear being passed off as new should come as no surprise.

Should they have...absolutely I agree one thousand percent. I would just give them an opportunity to correct their error. They do a high volume of business and someone probably just grabbed it out of their inventory, wrapped it up, and shipped it off without inspecting it. It stinks and is an inconvenience, but sometimes things are overlooked...it's all about how they resolve their mistakes.

Go to golftown every club on the rack looks hit albeit taped up but still hit. I posted a thread on this last year, I refuse to buy clubs if I can't take the plastic off.

My last two orders from GPP have been wrong. One was the wrong item completely, the other was the right model shorts, wrong size. I agree that when you get in touch with them they are great about trying to resolve the problem, but then it does take ALOT of effort from you to get it fixed. I too ordered a "new" fairway wood that had a few scuffs, but I didn't make a stink because I didn't think it would be worth it.

About the shorts: I called and was told they would look into it and call me back later that day. I called myself two days later after no call and they said they would send the correct item along with a return label for me to send the wrong one back. Correct item came, but no return label. I then called and they said they would email me a prepaid label. No email, so I called again and explained that I was literally just trying to do the honest thing and give them their shorts back (I now had two pairs and had only paid for one). I FINALLY got the label and sent them back.

Sorry for the long story, but my opinion is that they are great to deal with but not worth the hassle if there is a mix up. Too bad because some of the deals (when properly represented) are really good.

Update....

Its amazing that these companies just don't get it.
Its easy to resolve mistakes and misunderstandings but they don't act unless forced to.

They finally sent a return label after I opened up a case with paypal.
They received the item 4 days ago and have yet to contact me or refund my money.
I escalated the case with paypal today so I'm sure they will refund my money tomorrow.

Obviously customer service is not a high priority.

Luckily, I can afford to shop elsewhere.

Two things to consider. With variances in shafts being on spec, especially graphite, the one in plastic may not perform exactly as the one you hit. Second, you are quite free to order any current model as a special order if you feel more comfortable.

If anyone cares....GPP is awful to deal with.
They apparently just don't care unless they are on the receiving end.


I returned the club a week ago but still had not received a refund.
GGP has not authorized pay pal to refund the money though
they sent me an email saying they would do so promptly.

Finally I called paypal and they refunded they money.

I won't be ordering anything from them again.
