RAZR Fit Driver

Callaway can't get those weight kits out soon enough. It's a shame too because people will need to use them for swing weight adjustment and loose the entire intended purpose. The Razr Fit is fine driver just needs a ton of bandaids to get her right...BB

Disappointed that the Razr Fit adapter costs $75 on eBay....that's a JOKE considering that it's probably a $2 part to make and other manufacturers like TM sell adapters that seem higher quality for $20. Also want weights because the driver is simply too heavy for me with the stock 60 gm shaft that I'm replacing.

Mine finished with the stock shaft today...44.5' w/Winn DriTec, D4, 237cpm's, not optimal by a long shot. Next up a Aldila RIP Phenom 50x at same length, lighter shaft which brought the swing weight down to D3@268cpm's a lot better! Stock setup is too long and heads are too heavy, total pain in the butt! I brought both the driver and 3 wood to our local golf dome today. I started with the driver in the open position with the 12 in the heel. Granted, I was either stuck with a rubber tee that was taller than my driver, or one that barely stuck out of the matt, I chose the short one. Anyways, I was getting pretty decent contact, but man this thing was launching loooooooowww. It felt great, sounded beautiful, but the 8.5 could get me into trouble. So to combat it, I closed the clubface and got much better results. This driver really reminds me of my FT Tour as far as feel, but it has a ton of forgiveness. It's been a while since I swung a club so I am extremely rusty, and the ball patterns on my driver face proved that. But they all felt great, and seemed to hold their line. The one complaint I would have is the weight of this club. At 45.5 inches this thing is a beast. Next time, I am going to take my Motore F3 from my fairway and try it out in the driver just to see if I can handle the shorter length. I think it should play to 43.5. If I like it, I'm going to be cutting down to 44.5 which would be the shortest driver I've ever had.

By the way, the 3 wood is excellent. Feels great. It was very workable yet felt like it had some forgiveness in there for me also. Some say it reminds them of the DET, but I don't see it so much. The head shape seems rounder to me. But it looks nice and feels even better.

I am also impressed with this driver. I hit the a 10.5 with a motore shaft (red one) in s flex. The shaft played a tad soft I thought and at 45.5 was .5 to long. Give me an Adila rip 70 gram in x flex in a 9.5 and we have found a 910 d2 replacement.
The club played as long in this setup as my 910d2 and I felt like there was a heap more with the right shaft and head combo.

I've had this driver now for 2 weeks and it's kicked the R11 out of the bag. I found the stock shaft to be too long and a bit loose, however, the ball did carry a long way. I had it removed and replaced it with an ATTAS 6s at 44.75in, D2 and now I'm hitting high flat bombs and the dispersion is so much better. Loving this setup!

I'm playing an Attas T2 6s at 45" tipped 1.25" and D3 which feels great as well.

here we go.. got to the club and was driving in over the hills past 10 and the phone rang.. knew it was the word.. so my new driver is here, 10.5 45" but stock shaft.. the F3 is "on it's way with the new wedges and a bunch of balls for you" .. So far not a fan of the the new Cally hex ball but like most free balls...this is about the driver anyway.. have had an FT-3 in the bag with interruptions ever since it was released.. have played all the tp drivers mostly with lightweight motore or diamana blue shafts. Have strayed over to Titleist and PING. Hit one of the Speedlines for 6 months etc..

So here's what 7 holes taught me about this off the rack stick:

-It looks great. Black. Compact. to my eye: perfect

-It sounds and feels great. as subjective as can be. I love it. This is engineered. Someone nailed it.. some will find it a bit loud. OK.

-It's forgiving. I hit 6 fairways. the 7th I missed by 2 yards, hit a wedge to 15 feet and made a little left to right swinger for bird.

-The ball seems to come off the face like a rocket.

-Ballflight seems to be a bit low. I play 10.5, Shaft is the stock stiff. Looking forward to the F3 arriving shortly.

-Distance was good to excellent. I hit three balls that surprised me when I got to where they ended up and one that I thought might have been further down the pike. It was beautiful out there today.. Summer in February. I had been fitted to my FT-3 and have been hard pressed to beat it.. It will be a couple of weeks before I declare victory but all and all I am very encouraged.

Notably I got to the dogleg left par 4 7th which is a beast. Very easy bogie because of the green which is a two tiered monster with a very hard right to left/back to front tilt. I had been thinking this driver might just let me go over the corner (a very dangerous move). You fly the tree and you have a wedge in. I aim over it with a tailwind or light warm air only. Catch the tree and you are in trouble. I generally hug the center line and play an 8 or 9 up the hill over another big tree to the right side of the green. Was feeling confident and took a smooth swing and knew I'd made it with room to spare.. flew the tree and had wedge into the green. planted it and had a 10 feet swinger which I drained... Nice.

Be interested to hear how you guys set your's up and what you think.. I played it today right off the rack other than the shaft being 1/2" shorter. Have no need to mess with the face angle but will swap the weights for kicks to see how it reacts.. I hit a couple of drives on one of the par 5s and was interested to see the ball tail a little 3/4 of the way into it's flight. Using prov1s and the new hex ball.

Any update as to how the RF is working for you Buster?? It has been a long time since a driver twitter-pated you and it is always interesting to see what the "old caddie" thinks ('I'm 55 so I am close). I was all ready to give the big " My Bag Is Set" with my Ping gear this year until I hit the Razr Fit outside in Portland and Seattle in the past couple weeks and must say it is a CONSISTENTLY a tad longer for me (5-6 yds) while keeping my G20 "straightness". Extremely consistent with a great sound and the stock shaft, 9.5* works well for me. Damn, want to, but won't change yet as the confidence in the G20 is huge but the Razr Fit is a pretty thing that I know will find a spot in the rotation before the summer ends...EXPENSIVE gear year...
