Three to pick from....winner, winner, chicken dinner

I've researched thru your posts, mainly, and some other online sites. I hate rattling clubs, chatter, tangling, and fighting with headcovers. So, I want a higher tech. option - something where mankind engineering has it figured out. I like forged irons, yet I game two-three hybrids in headcovers as well.

Currently, it is apparent that there are about three companies with silence/control features in their full-length divider cart bags. Yeh, I'm a cart guy here in the hot desert. (Don't need the exercise, I still run 25 miles/week on the canals. :-( ).
Basically, its Bag Boy (LE); Bennington, & Ogio (Chamber). Prices ranged from about $ 280 - 205 on most online sources. I picked the Bennington Quiet 12 from golfbagplace as they had an extra 10 percent off sping sale.

The Bennington seems to be of the highest quality. Maybe my sig. gives that quirk away, but I enjoy the game as a true WRXer only can in seeking out best bang for the buck equipment, at least the most I can afford! Can't wait to hit the cart paths/courses and not have to wrap my towels among the heads or keep replacing headcovers!

anyone know of anything right now? Just got a new set of forged, would like to keep them looking nice without going overboard (i.e. headcovers) and am in the market for a new bag anyway. the Bennington 12 looks really nice.

Does anyone know if the Bennington bag works with extended shafts? I use Ping S56 +.75 and want to make sure they would work.

Also, does the 5 iron fit one of the hybrid slots, or is it too short? (I have 5-PW, 52,56,60)

Same boat as you, but with 1.25" extensions. I emailed Bennington twice last week and have not heard back.

 

 

Doesn't speak well for their customer service. Might just give them a call. Was working lately and hoped they might return an email.

Just called Bennington and was told the light quiet stand bag is 42" tall, that is the top of the holders. The bottom of the holder, where the wedge would be is 41" I am told. So if your shortest club is not longer than 41" it would work. But the lady on the phone did not instill confidence. Also, I don't know how long my clubs are. Duh. Guess I will need to take some measurements. How can a golf bag business not be able to tell me if extended clubs will work? That is all they do, all day long, every day. Surely I am not the first person to inquire about this.

What a joke. Told him my clubs were 1.25" over standard and he asked if they were shorter or longer than regular clubs. Then went on to tell me they would "certainly fit" in the bag, just that my clubs would stick up an extra "inch and a half or so". Jesus christ.

 

 

 

Called Bennington golf bags site, the number is not working. Out of business? That would explain why I got no email reply. I had emailed them and the main Bennington site.

 

 

 

This may be a great golf bag, but looks like I will never find out.

 

 

 

They need some serious help selling their product.

 

 

Guess I will keep cramming a towel around my forged irons

 

 

Saved me over $200. A silver lining from my wife's perspective.

For those with ?? about the bag height. Look at the top layout again on their website for reference. The lowest iron slots on the circle, which would be slots at 5 and 7 o'clock on the dial (the bottom center slot being right at 6 o'clock) measure at about 39.5" from the floor. Next, count four slots up the circle to positions at 11 and 1 o'clock. That lip rests at about 40.5" from the floor. I housed my hybrids minus their headcovers nicely in those slots. The longest, a TM SF 2.0 21 deg. has about 39" of length from handle end to bottom of hosel (top of club head), and just fits.

In the middle three slots (not grooved with their black rubber like holder material), I was able to house Driver, 3w, 5w with headcovers. With this bag, I learned quickly that headcovers are not gonna fit if they are of the no neck type, mostly. The sock style ones can stay on woods or hybrids in those middle three slots. The bottom slot at 6 o'clock gets my putter.

I finally have two bags, and almost two full set of clubs - for the actual alternating rotation I have always wanted to go with. But, in some ways, my Orlimar bag, which rocks the clubs around unless the towel snake is made, is still pretty good for the upcoming season now that my injured elbow is mostly pain free. It has no issues with headcovers of any type on woods & hybrids.

In the end, I say to the guy with .75" extra irons, ok. At 1.25" or more - bag won't lock the heads as well, but it does separate the clubs nicely. And, yes, pics would be nice.... someday...

Thank you. The measurements you offered differ slightly from the phone call I had with Bennington. Enough so that it sounds like my 1.25" over irons won't fit as intended. I appreciate your input.

I think they'll fit. I received my bag today. I put my 7 iron in the slot closest to the putter slot and it fit fine. I imagine my 7 is longer than your extended PW or 9. You should be fine.

I want one as I have a Clubmaxx Zeus. Out of business I believe. Sad, I met the inventor and it is/was a quality product. I've had the Zeus 3 full seasons.

I have an older Bennington Quiet 9 and really like it.... Wilson Staff Di9 irons 5i-9i, PW, AW, GW, SW around outside parameter; Driver, 3W, 5W and 4h in center section; driver and woods have factory covers. Putter fits in starboard side dedicated holder. Would like to have a Q-12 and will most likely make that leap if and when this one wears out; but from the looks of it, that may never happen.... play avg 3 times per week...
