So who all has seen the movie Borat so far? My fiance and a couple of friends went tonight to see it. It was very different compared to most movies I have seen. I can see were this movie could offend anyone on the planet, but I have never laughed so hard in my life. I will say that I could have done without the scene in the hotel room, but for those of you who haven't seen it I will let you find out.

i saw it the first day it was out and yes, it is about 5 times more offensive than the highly offensive Borat segments of da ali g show and about as funny. the hotel room scene was hilarious, although at 10 minutes it was a little long. my favorite scenes were the book signing and of course the bed and breakfast. if you aren't too easily offended i highly recommend this film, just make sure you go to the little boys room first or you might just pi$$ yourself as it is that funny.

Saw it, I thought it was HILARIOUS. Definitely offensive, definitely extremely crude and vulgar at times, but some of the scenes were priceless and had me laughing out of my chair.

 

Although parts of it were a bit frightening, no matter how far we think we have come, there are still people who would fit right in during the civil war.

Chris I know the feeling. I had to drive to another town thirty minutes away to see it last night. I thought our theater in town would carry it especially since my friend who is an assistant manager there said they would get it and didn't.

 

It was worth the hour drive to and from though.

Saw Borat tonight and was thouroughly disappointed. Although there are some funny scenes, when a film is being offensive for the sake of it I do not find it funny. The same jokes get tired from an early stage, and are then continually repeated. I went in thinking I would really like it, but left knowing the film had fallen short of all expectations.

I agree with chadwick here by saying I was deeply offended by the movie. I was ok until they were in the church of the lord & there is no reason to laugh at jesus. Being half jew, half gypsy & half retard I am also offended to an infinite level. There was nothing funny in the movie. bears are not funny. jews are not funny. gypsys are not funny. Nothing was funny until the lights dimmed & the movie started. Don't be a buzzkill Chadwik. The movie is not made for a certain audience & you probably shouldn't go to movies that don't fit your palate, let alone critique them, which is why I promise not to comment on "From Justin to Kelly" (not my cup of tea). Borat is great to watch even if you are too egotistical to laugh at potty jokes, sex jokes & former peoples republic... jokes, to watch Sacha stay in character throughout the worst parts is remarkable.

Aside from the comic elements of his characters,Sacha Baron Cohen's performances sometimes reflect the uncomfortable truths about his audience. He juxtaposes his own Jewish lineage with the anti-Semitism of his character Borat that poke fun at the hidden yet still rampant areas of American culture, including sexism, racism, homophobia and jingoism, holding up these human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn. Satire is not "being offensive for the sake of it"

I like wine more than coke. If you watch the movie in the Mugs and Movies section of out theater, you can order almost anything you want from Salads to Hamburgers, Cokes and Beer and Wine. I normally get a glass of White Wine. LOL We do have a couple of areas in there that are normal, but the one I like best is the one I was talking about. I think the theather has a total of 12 or 13 scrrens, but thatmugs and movies room is my favorite. I'll have to see ifI can get you pics. :(:):(:):(
