Face balanced at impact putter?

I've been looking at a new putter for a while and have just bought a Piretti Matera....during my search I looked at the Seemore putters ( I may still get one ) and I heard that they are face balanced at impact - now I get the idea behind this and I understand what they are trying to say.....

 

my question is, does this 'feature' make any real difference to the stability or accuracy of peoples putting?

 

I tested my old MacGregor bullseye putter and this is also what Seemore have described as 'face balanced at impact'

 

Do any of you guys have any views or experiences with regards this?

What kind of stroke do you have?

Straight back straight through" (SBST) or Slight Arc Straight down the line or Strong arc?

it makes a difference....

I don't see a bullseye being at all face balanced anywhere during the stroke.

I have a slight arc.......my bullseye isn't face balanced when you hold it parallel to the ground (it has a six o'clock hang) but when in the address position it is face balanced - [url="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6i7ZMQ69Ic8&feature=player_embedded"]see here[/url].

My question was for anybody who has any views on a face balanced at impact 'type' putter and it's effectiveness.

I have the Seemore One CS & I was fitted for it. I can tell you that my perception & what the authorized seemore fitter said matched in what I was feeling with this putter. It felt effortless to follow through & square the face at impact with this particular putter. I don't believe all seemore putters are impact balanced though which should only pertain to thier mallets but thier high MOI should compensate for that anyway. Also so you can compare I have a slight arc & I still use face or near face balanced putters. I actually just sold a slighter snubnose & a Scotty Cameron Kombi b/c I really love this putter & the feel. I will be picking up a mallet style also from them soon too.

I have a SeeMore PCB which is the same head shape as the One CS but only in a cast (lower cost) head. I bought and drank the KoolAid and its real. It works. The PCB has kicked out two Scotty's for #1 bag position.

Face balance versus putter type is a myth....

I have a SBST stroke and putt quite well with a flow neck or plumbers neck. For me, it's all about alignment and making my stroke.

My definition of "face balanced" is this. Holding the putter with just the thumb and one fingertip on each hand (literally as lightly as you can hold it in address position) then making a fairly long SBST putting stroke [b]does the putter rotate or twist at the transition from backward to forward stroke[b]?

Generally putters that do not twist are either face balanced when they are balanced on a fingertip, or they have a very slight toe-hang or they can have a bit larger amount of anti-toe-hang. But they've usually come pretty close to balancing level.

An original Bullseye putter twists surprisingly little in my address-position test even though the toe spins down to point to the floor when balanced on a fingertip. I don't have the patience to watch the whole video but I think this is the same principle that the SeeMore guy is getting at.
