Mostly New bag for this year.... Small Review - Cleveland Classic, Pingi20's

Hello all,

 

I pretty much put a whole new bag into play this year, and I thought I would share my thoughts after a little bit of practice with them...

 

First off Old Bag

 

Driver - a good old Classic - Cobra S9-1 Pro D 9.5* / UST MAMIYA AXIVCORE TOUR GREEN 75 stiff

3 wood - Titlest 909 13.5*

17* Hybrid - Titleist 909

21* hybrid - Titleist 910

Original set AP2's / stiff shaft project X's 6.0

Wedges - Callaway 52* & 58*

Putter - Gene Nead custom mini II

 

New Bag:

 

Driver - Cleveland Classic 310 Tour 10.5 / 72 Kusala Black

3 Wood - Adams super xtd 14.5* / Fubuki AX 65

17* Hybrid - Titleist 909

21* Hybrid - Titleist 910

Irons- Ping I20's 4 - PW / True Temper Monaco prototype stiff

Wedges - Cleveland 588 - 52* & 58*(58* is on back order)

Putter - Gene Nead - Mini II and also a Nead SAP09 that I picked up

 

Small Review....

 

First off,

i love my Cobra Pro D driver, and will always love it, but I thought it was time to try something else.

Cleveland Classic, I love it, Flies Long, High and gives me a a great trajectory, to me a definite Keeper. Its definitely longer the the Pro D, but not like 50 yards longer, approx 10 yards longer. But so Consistent for me, which is what I look for mainly,

 

I haven't got my Adams 3 wood yet, but I cannot wait to give it a try, if it is half the hype I will be happy, and have seemed to struggle with the Titleist 3 wood lately

I didnt touch my hybrids, for me, they work great, so I kept them in the bag. The trusty 17* is one of my favorite clubs in the bag.

 

Irons - For me a major upgrade. I liked but never loved my AP2's. When i stand over my I20's I am much more confident in them. It just seems so easy, Point and Shoot. They do what I want, small draw, small fade, whatever, they just seems to perform. Also it seems I hit them a little farther as well, Could be due to loft differences, but length is not my issue, and I wasnt really looking for a new iron to get me more length. I major Keeper and anyone looking for irons, a definite must try.

Wedges - I played Cleveland for sometime, and made the shift to Callaway, and now Im back to Cleveland. I love the 52* it does what i want, I cant wait to get the 58* in the bag.

Putter - I was lucky enough to pick a custom SAP09 that was for sale here. I love it. Both the Mini II and the SAP09 are going to get game time this year.

 

Well, thats all for now, I just seemed to be bored at home so i thought I would post a small review, I hope it helps anyone or points people to try certain clubs.

Thanks for sharing thoughts on the Pro D/Classic. Do you find true classic more forgiving than the Pro D? You went up in loft Classic, does it launch lower than the Pro D?
