I had no idea this club had such a following! Awesome to see I'm not alone.

I have been actively trying to find a better 3 wood for about 5 years now. I've tried so many models every year and I can't get better numbers on the sim than I do from this club. Two weeks ago I eagled a 540yd par 5 from 270 out (downhill approach), hit the green then nailed the putt. So much confidence in this club. When I think back to my best shots, more than half were with this club.

Saw a V-steel 3w at a local shop used for $40, with a steel shaft. Didn't pick it up due to the shaft. Don't care for steel shafts in my woods. Thinking of going back and picking it up for the head alone...but then there's extra money tied up in a re-shaft...is it worth it in y'all's opinion?

Still one of the best FW lines available. I have a T/S, (2)3W, (2)4W, 5W and a 7W. I have tried to replace the 4W and 7W that I play most of the time, but nothing has been able to do it as of yet. I would like to try one of the 9W if I run across one.

The first page has a top head view of my 4 wood. It is pretty much the same at address as a 5 wood.

I haven't owned a V steel in quite some time, but it was absolutely one of the best three woods I ever owned. My main 3 wood now is a Ping i15 and in my opinion it reminds me of the V steel.

Worth it. The ones I owned all had S300's in them and I loved them. I am actually considering going bak to steel in my three wood and hybrid.

What size shaft does a 13* take? I picked one up on ebay because it had an Oban Kiyioshi in it that I wanted for my 4w. It was shimmed in the v-steel. The head has just been sitting on my work bench for a month but after reading this thread I kind of want to hit it

v-steel regular are .350, and if it is tour issue with a paint break it will be .335. If it has been shimmed it is .350.

Got a wild hair and put these on Lefties Swap last week, saw the posts, took to the range last night, they will be in the bag tomorrow for a round at Sedgefield, GGO Course... 3 and 7 Woods Custom from Taylor Made, Graffalloy Blue X, +1/2", swingweight to D4.... Had been thinking about an RBZ Tour TP 3w, but these things just keep working, especially after a little "time out" in the garage the past couple of months... Swap between the 7 wood and a 19 Degree 09TP Hybrid with Matriz Altus X... Hybrid may be slightly longer, but the high soft trajectory of the 7W is hard to beat in the 215-230 range... The 08 TP Driver will probably go though, got great numbers out of RBZ Tour TP the other day... Maybe I should paint the 3-7 white, knowing how good these fairways still are... Need a re-furb on the headcovers though, sunfaded badly, black is gray, red is orange, on them... Funny, # tags still live....

For those who play (or have played) the V Steel 15* 3W, is it versatile and forgiving both off the tee and the deck? I recently picked up a V Steel 3W cheap from one of the used sites. I don't need to make a change as I am currently playing very well with my G15 4W both off the tee and the deck, but I wouldn't turn down a bit more distance from the 3W if it provided the same versatility (and forgiveness).

I will try to give it a go myself either in a round or at the range at least, but I am curious of any thoughts in the meantime. Thanks.

IMHO it has been the most versatile 3W I have carried. I play it occasionally off the tee, but more so off the deck. I've had this club ever since it came out, and like others have said here I haven't found anything to knock it out of my bag. I'm still playing the Grafalloy Pro-Lite S that it came with. I am considering a shaft change, but it's not a high priority.

Thanks. Sounds like it is certainly worth taking it out for a round or two and seeing what it can do. I shouldn't even be entertaining a change from my G15 4W, but this is WRX after all...

I have a 15° 3w with a Whiteboard 83x tipped about 1.5", and it is a monster. I've had a few 3 woods, and this is by far the best. It had the stock dynalite stiff steel shaft in it when I bought it, and I loved it. The only reason I put the whiteboard in it is because I just happen to have one sitting in my garage, and I'm glad I did.

I'm constantly searching for and trying new drivers, irons, wedges, putters and hybrids, but have no desire or need to replace the 3w. I wont go into specifics just because I dont feel like arguing my abilities with people who have never seen me play, but suffice it to say this club is good for high, loooooooooong bombs.

Joined the Brotherhood today - thanks to this thread. Bought one at my range today (Southern Golf in Raleigh NC) for $20!!! Looks almost new. He even had the head cover. Hit it about twenty times on the range, mostly off the turf. Solid sounding and long. Stock Taylor graphite shaft. Lower dispersion and longer than my Ping Rapture V1!

The one on the left is the European version of the v-steel. It is a little more low profile than the one in the U.S. game one with a rombax 7w06 will see if a rbz tour beats it out of the bag.

Well, I don't have a picture of it. But I LOVE my 18* 5W... Was my driver for many years, I was able to put it out there with most other people's drivers and right down the middle. The last couple years, however, I've been trying to work a driver into my bag, am going through a swing change now, and have lost that "special connection" with mine. We need to spend some quality time at the range again.

Here is mine that I did a ghost finish on and it has a x stiff ust Irod fairway shaft. Great club! I kind of switch between this one and a 08 Burner. The burner launches a little higher and is a little better for me off the tee although I hit it a little shorter than the v-steel. Love both of them really!

Now to find the perfect shaft combo. What have you guys found to be particularly great shafts combos with this head?
