I just ordered my first V-Steel in 15°! You guys better be right about this club! I'm thinking hard on putting in a Dynamic Gold in it. I'm putting together a 2nd bag. It will be as follows

 

Driver - 910D3

Fairway - V-Steel 3w and a System 2 Midsize 21° 5wd (in modern terms it looks like a hybrid. I was money with this club growing up.)

Irons - Ping Eye 2's

Wedges Ping Eye 2's

Putter - Old Anser 3

I played V-steel 3&4 woods for a couple of years, they're great. But the all time best fairway woods are the original Callaway s2h2, with the Steelhead plus as a close second.

I gotta say I normally don't think clubs make or break ya but now that I've had a few rounds under me these fairway woods are fantastic. I know I posted a page or two back but I still stand by my original statement and then some, off the tee or fairway these things just work. I originally had plans of switching out the shafts, the stock graphite feel terrible but I hit them so well as is I'll just deal.

I got my 15 degree V Steel (MAS Tour Stiff shaft) and have played two rounds with it but I'm going to have to put a different shaft in it. I can't hit it more than about 7 feet off the ground. I love the way it sounds and feels, it's really straight, and for worm-burners the ball still goes a long way. What shaft would anyone recommend to get the ball up in the air?? My SS with a driver is right at 100 mph and I have a pretty quick swing.

What amazes me about this game is how the same thing can provide vastly different results. With that shaft in mine I can launch the thing way up in the air with the 15 degree for fairway shots. I was actually thinking originally of tossing something with a little lower launch but I hate to mess with what works. I love the physics aspect of our game and how it can vary so much.

[/quote]Thanks for the responses. I was thinking steel shaft but according to Golfworks/Maltby Playability Factor all the steel shafts are low launching. I've been going through the catalog looking for a relatively heavy shaft that rates high on the launch factor. My old three wood is only fourteen degrees and I can hit it high but the v steel is a fifteen and gives me nothing but worm burners. I hope I can find something to change that cuz I just love how it feels-even the ground balls roll forever. If I could get the damn ball up in the air I'd be set!!

I have the pro force V2's in my 3 & 5. I think as with any shaft its all about the feel. I loved this shaft in my 905R so i knew that they were my go too in these. I love the results and don't think you can go wrong.

On recommendation of G0Lfwrxs, Jack Golden Pearsall purchased a V Steel 5 wood with a UST shaft.
Jack hopes this isn't some horrible mistake, as he is not one to forgive, or forget on such matters.

Wow what a score. Picked a 3 and 5 wood with x V2 shafts in them for a whoppppingg.....wait for it.....$75 total. What is even better is the 5 wood is tour issued with the paint break and has the V2 PROTO in it. The 3 wood is in great shape with barely a mark on the head. These things can not be set up any better for me. For the price this was the steal of the year! V-Steel lives on!
