My "inspired by.." set-up

After many years on the forum, an honest appraisal of what truly has performed the best for me, and some inspirational review of posts relating to favorite clubs ever, decided to put together a set of true scoring implements based on a few tweaks to Golfwrx classics I already owned.

 

Driver- 10.5* r510tp w/ (gasp) both tour and retail serial numbers.Shaft is a VTS silver 7SX playing @ 44.5" length, sw=D4 w/ black/white NDMC grip plus two wraps under right hand and one wrap under left. I really like the old UST 7250 shaft and was able to match performance w/ this hand-selected shaft from UST.(thanks Jamie!)

***grips same on all clubs except putter.

 

Fairway- 15* MP Titanium w/ DVS 80 stiff @ 42.5" length,sw=D4

This shaft allowed me to elevate shots a bit more easily off the deck and still be able to hit a flat, running draw off tee when desired.

 

Irons- 2-pw 962b w/ KBS tour (stiff) 2-5 irons 2*up, 6-8 1.5*up, 9 and pw 1*up, standard length, sw=d4

Favorite iron shaft prior to these was the original Bruswick stepped 6.0 and must say that these are a favorable match.

 

Wedges- 56* Scratch 8620 D/D grind w/ s400, 60* Scratch 8620 STI/EBN w/s400 , modified slightly to have straight leading edge. (thanks Paul!) Higher effective bounce SW and lower effective bounce LW allow great deal of versatility.

Putter- Machine M1a 4.0 fixer,short handbent rectangular hosel, 303ss w/ antique charcoal torch finish,melted bumpers, headweight 356g, 72* lie angle, 3.5* loft( thanks Dave and Dwight!) The VMG milling creates a soft feel and smooth roll, low/no maintenance finish that gains character as ages. Grip is Lamkin 3g smooth pistol.

Playing b330s, still have quite a stash of last year's model- as far as the pro v1, don't know if comment was sarcastic due to retro style, but do have quite a few boxes of '05 pro v1x stashed away- according to a few guys w/ esquire after their names , pretty similar

Sweet bag and Masters headcover, love my r510TP. Just a quick question, how did you realize how many wraps of tape you like under each hand?

Shotz, a scotch brite wheel can work miracles on restoring look to cast clubs. Br1an, decided upon taping just on feel as do not like a lot of taper in grips, tried on single club, liked result, so went with change on all clubs.

The Masters headcover actually was purchased @ Augusta National and at last check, was still available through the pro shop.
