RBZ Tour 14.5 - Need to Reshaft

80 gram shafts, need help!!

Picked up a RBZ Tour 14.5 to see if I could unseat my mythical 07 Tour Issue Burner Tour Spoon… I've never felt anything better than the Tour Spoon but it launches a smidge low off the deck. The idea that I could get similar or MORE carry off the deck with a higher launch is why I picked up the RBZ Tour. I've hit it multiple times now and the stock XCon7 X at 43.5" is a horrible fit for me but she's still flying as far or farther than my spoon and my buddies Super XTD 14.5 with VTS Red 8TX. I'm intrigued b/c she's doing this with about 2-4 degrees of more launch.

So time to reshaft…. Looking to keep launch close to same maybe drop a degree/two but lower spin and tighten up the dispersion. I'm going to play her at 43" instead of the stock length for more control. I'm a late lag/release player who puts a lot of load on the shaft about 105-110avg with 3 wood. I'm looking at the following 80 gram shaft options, any thoughts or recommendations?

Devotion 8
PX 8A4/8B4
Fubuki Alpha 80
Blueboard 83X
Talamonti PD-80

Can never go wrong with a Blueboard in the fairway... Such a great shaft, so smooth, great feeling.

Talamonti. I am reshafting mine with a axe tour xcaliber I've heard nothing but great things and decided to give one a try. But you can't go wrong with the talamonti, it plays VERY similar to the BB

S83 5ct xstff bb, rbz tour 3 , mid sized ndmc playing @ d5 swing weight

I too had an 07 /8 burner tour spoon, tried it servdiff off times the rbz 20 yds longer on the course and tested back to back on the LM. As you know 1.5 dg higher loft and i have it playing at 42.5. Call it the "blue ballz"

It's a cannon, sad part it's not much shorter dist wise than my driver

Love Talamonti PD80's, just ask Phil, I've bought over a dozen of his shafts now. Lol. Another shaft that works well in that head (had one and it was a cannon just too far left biased for me) was a Protopype 80.

How much did you tip the blueboard and how are you achieving D5 @42.5"? Tip weight? Lead tape?

Blueboard is the early front runner but I'm still intrigued by the devo, px, and Fubuki alpha 80.

I put an 85x tipped a hair over 1 inch at 42.5 and I love it's I far! A lot better flight for the 14.5 your than I got from my old 906f2 with the same shaft

To be honest on the tipping part, I let the club maker do it. There is a guy I found here in Pittsburgh @ "golf specialitiees" whose really good. I know he had different weights to add in, used a heat gun to remove the bottom weight and dropped another in. Great club before, it's now an awesome one. I had gotten the shaft off eBay for 80(fairway pull). Not too much weight to add as stock wt was d4

I would agree with you at stock length it's so long, and I'm 6'2. Even shortened It's good for 290-300 off the deck if I jump on it. I shorter par 4 I hit one 330 (slightly down hill) and off the tee
