I was worried Meghan would depart first. That clip of Yani Tseng joining the group for one episode obviously had to be very early in the season, considering the large number of women at the breakfast table. Every time Golf Channel aired that clip I took a quick look and didn't see Meghan. I didn't feel like freeze framing it for deflating verification but once Meghan was headed toward elimination I was certain that would be the outcome.

Her putting technique was dreadful in the first challenge, which was sort of a blend of the opening scenes of Ka'anapali (digging up the beach) and Prince Edward Island (read signs and attempt 3 foot putt).

I was impressed Meghan played competently on the par 5, losing to a birdie.

Based on the appearance of this group it's hardly a surprise Golf Channel opted for a weekly spinoff epiosde, Michael Breed hosting an instruction episode with the newly eliminated player each Tuesday. It's been many years since Golf Channel ran that type of concurrent Big Break show.

BTW, Meghan Hardin has a website. I took a look at it tonight after she was eliminated. Purchased but comparatively great job by the doctor is a huge favorite. She has some "early years" photos that don't similarly stand out.

When Meghan went off, I almost shed a tear. I was texting a buddy of mine who was watching it also, and I think we both had a collective sigh at the moment she lost. I did learn one thing, they are dreadful putters and they didn't shine in the short game, either. I really hope the girl from Texas goes off soon, I can't stand to listen to her. I have a feeling I'm not going to end up really liking anyone from this season.

I think episode two should be a "playback" challenge to let an eliminated contestant back in!



That pressure must be really something, because even though they hit some awfully poor shots in the elimination challenge, they looked pretty darn solid on the glass breaking. I think there were only a couple of bad misses, as a group they looked better on that challenge than most of the previous shows.

And also, what a crappy deal, if you both break your glass, you get less points and both go to elimination.

Yeah i really wasn't expecting the golf channel to be so shallow with who they chose to be on the show. All of these woman are stacked and pretty hot atleast the ones I've seen in the ads

I caught some of the show on DVR last night and this group is unwatchable. So much attitude for so little golf accomplishments.

One player has 10 years of being a pro on the mini tour with 50K of winnings. Why would a mini tour player that averages 5K per year in winnings be on a show like this? Time to give up the dream.

A mini tour player that has the yips with the irons since 2007. Some of the players need to know when to say when.

Here's a thought: Combine the Haney Project with the Big Break

Take all the contestants who never should have been on the show and then ship them out to Hank so he can coach them into the "tour caliber" players we all know they can be.

The two contestants that come to mind right off the bat are Meghan and Justin from Indian Wells.

Apparently I'm in the minority, but I love the show. The contestants seem interesting and besides that, what do you expect out of min-tour girls? They've only been pros for what - 2 or 3 years? They're still improving.

I'm an 8 handicap and am perfectly comfortable knowing any one of those ladies would clobber me. I chalk up those bad misses to nerves and not being in the 'natural' element of a round of golf. Start/stop/cut/roll, OK - now hit your shot.......and it's worth 5 grand if you pure it.

That would be enough to make all of our choke percentages shoot through the roof.

Oh - and props to Kaymer. Well done.

The only one I'm rooting against is the one working for the environmental special interest group in DC. She want to make me wash and separate my garbage while she indulges her passion for a sport that requires a patch of Earth with more fertilizer and unnatural chemicals in it than a third world drainage ditch. Go figure that one out.

Good question!

Although she didn't win any cash per se, I imagine she did collect some perks (no pun intended!) and amenities during her short time on the show...air fare, lodging, meals, hair styling/make over, and at least an Adams Staff bag with her name embroidered.

I wonder if these things would be considered "payments" thus rendering her amateur status null and void?

I'm pretty sure that does count as compensation.

Even without the "payments" earned, I think there's a couple year long waiting period before she can be reinstated as an amateur? Not sure on that, but a rule like that would make sense otherwise you'd have people flipping back and forth like this all the time.

Judging by the reaction they got in this thread, she should probably start claiming that augmentation surgery as a business expense, too...........
