i 15 vs 1 20

Hit some demo 7 irons (i 15 and i 20) into a net and noticed that the i20 went higher, hit net about 12"+ above the i 15. I know its a new club head etc. but what are the differences folks have noticed. I played black eye2's for about 15+ years and want a new set. Both look great IMO. Thanks.

I have the i15 irons with KBS and am very pleased with the trajectory, I wouldn't want it any higher. I looked at the i20's but they seem to be the very same iron with a new number. Lots of good value for little used i15 sets available now. The irons are very forgiving for off-centre hits and the progressive head size is nice, I am happy with them. Of course there are loads of quality sets to chose from other manufacturers these days, the AP2's, JPX Pro, MP 59, Adams etc etc are all worth a demo too, irons are so much more forgiving now than 15 years ago when you got your eye2's. I didn't play for 15 years til last year, and I was astonished at how forgiving the modern clubs are, and also how much better the golf balls are, I am getting backspin on hard greens with 5 irons using the hard balls, something unheard of 15 years ago. I hit a 4 iron with my previous club last week for interest on a par 3, not a good swing, caught it a little towards the toe and the ball went about halfway to the green, it reinforced just how forgiving the i15's are as the same shot with my current 4 iron would have been on the fringe of the green. If you get i15's or i20's I think you will be pleased with the forgiveness of them, even though for well hit shots the results will be the same. It is worth demoing some of the forged offerings as those irons are also greatly more forgiving now than 15 years ago.

I've never hit the i15's but I did recently hit about 30 balls on the range with a yellow dot, standard lenght, stock stiff flex (108 gram shaft) i20 7 iron. I really like the feel and trajectory control. I could hit it lower or higher if I wanted to. The feel was what stood out the most. Like I said, I have never hit an i15 iron to compare anything though.

I owned the i15's with KBS Tour shafts. They are great clubs. Demoed the i20's, 7 iron only, with the CFS shaft and found the i20 7 iron was longer and I liked the feel better than the i15, probably the shaft. I think there is some improvement with the i20's vs the i15's, both are excellent clubs though. The i20's look better.
