with the PGA show it makes sense to launch at the same time as other OEMs, but it does only seem like yesterday that the g20 line was released.

Saw the G25 line yesterday. Looks like a combination of all of there current clubs. Black finish with a I20 look with little slots on on sole going away from center of sole. Also adjustable just like anser +/-.5* it is supposed to be forgiveness of G20 with black finish and adjustability. All in all looks to be a solid club. Also price will be alittler higher becasue of the adjustability and R&D but price drop on G20 will make a great value.

I will be in the market for new irons this spring and I like what I've heard so far of the G25's.

Saw the G25 Line Today. Driver is exactly as described above. Matte Black/Dark Grey Finish, little cut outs on heel and toe and sole pad with weight in the back of the driver. PING is in big letters on the bottom of the driver. All and all it looked very good. Was told that only a hand full of Ping staffers have even been able to hit the driver yet. Fairways have same look and hybrids are more like the i20 line with the external sole pad and weight. Now for the irons...a big change. Stabilzer bar across the back cavity from heel to toe. No more large CTP in the back of the cavity, thinner top line and sole. The way it was described was larger sole, lower center of gravity in long irons, thinner sole and highter COG on the short irons. A very good change for the G line. New putters have some magical new insert in them that the rep said gave you consistent distance control on off center hits with the putter....looked pretty interesting...cant wait to try. Was told to be on the look out for them in Hawaii when the pgatour kicks off next year. Hope this answered some questions.

[/quote]Cannot confirm on the sleeve, but if I had to guess Yes and release date was February...cant say exactly when but he said sometime that month.

Yes and Feb 15 as conservative date according to my rep, but product will be likely in stores the week before.

I can't wait to see pics. I think a previous post said the irons are close to the G5. I wish they would be closer to the i5's but I doubt that is the case with the i20's out. I wish I had my i5's back.

new Pings similar to the G5 would be amazing. I feel like the soles on the G series have become ridiculous. No one needs that much forgiveness. They are basically hybrids. The G2/G5 lines were amazing. I play G10's now but if i could order them again i'd do it with the sole grind. An SGI that's a little less gargantuan would be a home run for me

I agree totally

I still play my g5s. Funny that at the time...they were pretty much SGI. Compare them to the i15 and they are almost identical in head size and sole width, but maybe just a touch less offset in the i15, and the i15 was supposed to be not so much GI at that time...I thought about upgrading into the i15 but from the numbers there was no significant difference, so I wasn't going to spend the money on a lateral move. I really thought that was interesting.

Personally if they dialed it (sole width) back even more in the short irons than the g5 it would be sweet, but that's probably not what they're looking for in the g series.

It would be a weird move to drop the K line and also make the G iron less SGI. I wanted them to clean up the G irons when the K was available as looks-wise they were very similar. Again I'm happy to see a better looking G iron but the timing would be odd, in my opinion.

It seems if they brought back multi-material (or at least used it more extensively) then they could achieve the same perimeter weighting/SGI goals, and still have less of a sole.

I'm no club engineer though, and what you say kind of makes sense, although I never played any of the k series. Was it because they saw too much overlap between the two lines?

I just picked up the i20 hybrids and 3 wood last month. I only got to hit one of the hybrids before the end of the season, but it was unbelievable. Long and straight. I hit it 8 times in a row on the range and hit it flush every time; I have never hit 10 shots in a row flush before. I took it out on the course expecting to see a drop in performance, and it was just as good the two times I had to pull it out that round. I was so impressed with the 20 degree hybrid, that I immediately bought and 23 degree and a 3 wood. The look of these hybrids is right up my alley, as well. I hope to keep these in the bag for years to come regardless of the OEM product cycles.
