Off to play kirkbrae. Opened yesterday. I'll report back on its conditions

Played Newport National today. Had a good round going in the front, 41. Got to the 13th hole and the wheels came off the bus (15 over on the back *choke*).

1) We caught up to the slow 4some in front of us. So there started to be a little more standing around.
2) Jerks behind us shouted "hey your balls over here" (to their group) just as I was coming down in my swing. Ball? Meet water. I shout back "Your balls over here". They chuckle, but I think they get the hint.
3) Now we're waiting around on the 14th to hit.
4) Finally can go, and have to wait again for approach shots.
5) Wait for them to clear green to get up. (Repeat as nauseum... while the rest of the course starts to stack up behind them).
6) Jerks behind us hit onto the green, as we're on there. It seems they forget what a following wind can do. Great, you're on in 2 (maybe 2, maybe 3 wasn't watching them), but it's no surprise when you have a 15mph following wind and you're less than 250 out. At least they curtailed their cross course shouting.

just about 3 hrs to finish the back.

I just need to bring some zanax or something to chill me out. I just got pissed off over other people instead o just trying to concentrate on what I needed to do.

Oh well. Still early in the season.

Yeah. Played kirkbrae yesterday. Shot 89. 44 front 45 back. Parred 18. Missed my 15 foot birdie outt. But that made me happy as i NEVER do well on that hole. It was a strange round. I didn't drive the ball well. And I missed just about every green. But I never three putted. And chipped really well. Odd feeling to play terrible but still score not terrible (I.e. high 90's)

Course was in good shape. The grins were inconstant and still had signs of aeration. Not too bad for march. Like you said. Looong season

Needed a quick round on saturday before going home to prep for easter. Ended up at Southers Marsh in Carver. It was in pretty good shape with the greens being really smooth but a bit slow. Otherwise a quick round at 2hr 30min and a great way to work out the early season kinks with a lot of iron and short game play. For those of you that haven't been there, I highly recommend it. Just don't go there expecting a long course.

Tradition at Oak Lane (Woodbridge, CT)

Played it this afternoon for the first time this season. Course is in fantastic shape! Greens are mowed, no aeration marks, and roll pretty well (not fast but not slow). Fairways are in good shape as well as the bunkers. Carts seem brand new also. And I booked a hot deal through Golfnow so it was a whopping $16 for 18 with cart!

Played at Sterling Farms in Stamford, CT today.

It was a nice day weather-wise. But I'm afraid I fooled myself into thinking the grass would be as nice as we see it on TV on courses in warmer climes.

As it was, aerated, sanded greens and a general lack of growth kinda hurt the old putting stats. (My hopes for a full year without ever having to use ESC have been dashed on day one.)

Played Jamestown CC in RI (9 holes) this afternoon (beginning of league play). The greens have never been quicker. Ever. I've been playing here for about 6-7 years now, and they were rolling like 11-12. Phenomenal.
