Everyone's favorite golf ball (outside of Titleist)

The golf ball is changing so quickly and the differenciation between the golf ball types is beginning to blur. I wanted to find out what everyone's favorite golf ball is, outside of Titleist. I know the V1/x is still the overwhelming favorite because it flat out performs. There aren't too many balls that I can yank a string on like the V1/x, but there are a whole lot that are getting pretty close. For tour performance balls, I like the Srixon Z-UR/s/c series and the Bridgestone B330/s. Both are very good balls but the Srixons seem to cut easier than the Bridgestones. The Tourstage X-01/s/h are also very good but pricier than the other two; at that price point, I'd get the Titleists.

 

I'm finding that I play quite well with some value performance balls, too. The Titleist NXT is very good, if a bit firm but I was pleasantly surprised by the Nike Ignite ball. Good control around the greens and good distance with the driver and irons.

Love the NXT Tours for practice, out side of Titleist anything Bridgestone works very nicely. Still haven't found anything to beat the Pro V1-X out of my bag.

Now this isn't ment as a joke, but I tried the nike juice the other day, and honestly, I didn't think it was too bad. Sure it's a distance ball, but it had some kind of check to it. didn't feel like a rock either. plus who wouldn't want GINORMOUS on the side of their ball? hehe

Most consistant ball I have ever played long and great feel around the greens and has a consistant spin on wedge shots, does not over react.

 

 

 

Oh and last forever good durability for a players ball!!

They both do everything a ProV1 does for me and they last 3 times as long.....I'm still bummed that Precept discontinued the U-tri as I'm down to my last 2 dozen and I don't feel the E6 or E5 compare to it.....I'm just hoping that with the "new" 330S coming out the old ones will plummet in price....

I played the b330 for one round and I loved it. I am going to try to play something other then a titleist but I don't know what yet. Probably the z-urC and the Bridgstone 330 series will get the most attention.

I like the same balls too but have been playing the TP Black because they were 30 bucks on GPP and I like it as much or even more than others.

 

My least fave out of those is the Platinum. Just doesn't have as much durability.

I've had a lot of success with both the Bridgestone B-330S and the Srixon Z-UR / Z-URS, and I want to try out the Z-URC, which I think will be a better fit for my swing.

I haven't played Titleists regualry in ages. I usually buy a dozen of the yearly releases just to try.

I like the HX Tour and Nike Platinum, the latter really suprised me as the older Nike balls failed to impress.

I like the HX Tour 56 or the Taylormade Balls are starting to really impress me. All depends on which set i am using.

I've never really been a fan of the Pro V1. Maybe because I have never noticed any performance increase over the Nike and/or Callaway balls so I don't see the need for the extra $5 a box just to have a Pro V1. It turns out I like different balls at different times of the year.

 

For the Cold Weather, I have a new Love for the Callaway HX Pearls. Yes, I know it's a girls ball, but when it's < 45º outside, this ball is long.

 

In the Warmer Months I will normally play any of the following with really no particular preference:

• Nike One Platinum/Black
  
• HX Tour/Tour 56
  

I will normally play a higher spin ball on longer courses where I am using longer irons for approach shots and will use the lower spin balls on shorter courses where I can band a driver out there and leave a 7 -> Wedge for an approach shot. Seems to work for me.

I agree with all three of your choices. U-Tri Tour can still be had for $22/doz or so at Target, sometimes much less. They were succeeded by the B330/s, not by the E6/5. I picked up Black Max for $20/doz. new on Ebay, and I like them every bit as much as the others you mention and the Titleist.
