Ok........claims he used to compete......ive seen 385 out of him with a 45" driver. Either way...thats not why i see him.......i take lessons from him because he is snedeckers old coach for a number of years and knows what it takes to go to that next level. The thread was originally about an adams driver that i got for the clubhead and came with a 48" v2 ld-2 in it....swung it some for the fun of before dismantling it and reshafting it for normal play......which has been done....393 was my best...good fun but not necessarily for lowering scores

I don't think he was being too negative considering he was a top 5 long drive guy for a very long time and most likely during that period of the 90's.

Steven knows I feel this way, but I don't particularly like Vergil at all. A lot of what he says is bullcrap, but he IS a longer than average player. Long drive realm? I doubt it. He may have poked one that far with good conditions, but so can a lot of good players. He has some decent info, but a lot of bad info as well. I'm sure he knows how to make people hit the ball a little straighter, but that's about it in my opinion. He isn't highlyegarded in the PGA Professional world.

didnt take any comments negatively.....and yes matthew....I know your position about virgil.....and as usual, you and I can politley disagree and still be friends.......and still hammer balls to the other tee area of the range at gaylord and laugh (have you broken that nike driver yet???)......and as for the pga professional world, he is good enough to be sold out every week, and helps out tons of people, and the pga pros that I've talked to seem to not have any problem at all with him. there will always be people that disagree with someone's information or teaching methods....that's why we can all have different coaches that work for us, and can get the pertinent info through our thick heads so that we all can improve.......I think virgil is a no BS teacher, and does a great job keeping up with what information and ideas that are out there in the world, and presents information in a way that I can relate to and improve by leaps and bounds and not have to deal with ideass that may be good for some, but not for me......and if he wasn't effective for me and my overly demanding a**, then I would have already found someone else.

That's true. And I decided to not get the Nike driver. I ended up with an 7.5* r11s three degrees open with an 80x ahina tipped 2 inches. But I ended up going back to my 910d3

In case you don't know who that poster is, he won the whole thing in 1993 and has several top 10's, including a 2nd, 3rd and 5th place finish during the time period the original posters coach claims to have been top 5 in the world of long drive(mid-90's). If BPavelt, who is also an LDA hall-of-famer, hasn't heard of the coach as it relates to his claim of being top 5 in the world of long drive, I think the coach might have some explaining to do regarding his resume. Obviously the coach is very accomplished in other arenas having taught some Now PGA pros ( if this is true), his long drive claims are false. Unless he was on the Jack Hamm tour?

I've played Westhaven a few times and drove it several times down to the 85 yard marker on hole 18 from the blue tees, the hole plays 430 from the blue tees. If you keep the ball down the left side it will roll a ton out there, actually those fairways roll like pga tour tournament ready fairways, if you carry the ball 280 or so in the air, you'll be hitting 315 all day long out there.

Watch it. I've personally seen Steven hit balls that far. He's 6'3" and absolutely ripped. Not to mention he has a good swing. He's a former body builder.

hello guys! I real new to WRX, but very interested in ld. Saw this thread and Sblack sounds like he knows what he is doing. I'm 22 and not a very big guy 5'-11" 170lbs., but a very athletic build. Was wonder if you guys had any great workout routines for increasing flexibility and SS. I average right around 128mph SS. I've played golf for many years and handicap 4 on par 72's. Hit the balls a pretty good distance from mine and my friends standards. Drives on the course average between 325-340 with my regular stick. If I take my Krank out I've been out there at 360. My spin rate on Trackman is right around 2100rpm and launch angle is 11-12. Any advice would be great. Sadlowski is my idol, due to him and I being very similar in size and he just flat out POUNDS the golf ball.

RBZ Tour cranked 7.5*, house of forged sadlowski shaft xxx stiff 46"
R11 cranked 7.5*, Accra MC 75 xx stiff, 45"
Krank Rage 5*, Fujikura Livewire xxx stiff 48"
