I felt a bit underwhelmed by it to be honest. Far too cheesy in places, especially when they wheeled out the old DB5 from Goldfinger. I know it was supposed to be a nod to the past, but it was a subtle as a sledgehammer.

Casino Royale still the best, with Goldfinger a very close second.

Agreed. I was totally underwhelmed and disappointed. All the talk about "Best Bond Ever" really got me excited. WAYYY too cheesy in places, and I'll stand by what I've always said to my friends, the WORST type of villian you can have in a movie is a cyber terrorist. Just completely unbelieveable (the only acceptable one is Swordfish and we all know the 2 things that makes that movie OK). Also, the lack of a true "Bond Girl" was very disappointing as well.

Just as a whole, I'd rate it very middle of the pack for a Bond movie. By far the worst one that Daniel Craig has been in, and miles behind the greatness that is Casino Royale as the most unbelievable thing for Casino Royale were the poker hands involved in that last hand of the tourney: straight, beat by a flush, beat by a full house, beat by another full house, beat by straight flush.... I mean come on!

Thought this movie was terrible. Felt very cheap and the product placement was irritating. After watching it, found out the studio was basically out of money and it was pretty obvious.

I thought it was great. Admittedly, with all the "Best Bond ever" talk, I was concerned that it might not live up to the hype, but after seeing it I'd say it met all expectations.

Best Bond ever? Probably not, but definitely the best since Golden Eye. Royale was great because it was old-school, invincible Bond with an edge, but this one was great both because you saw his weaknesses and because he had a villain that could conceivably actually take him out. Bardem was great.

No wasted energy on a useless Bond girl in this one. Loved it. Saw it twice.

How is Bond getting too old to perform in the field just as Miss Moneypenny is being introduced to the series? They beat the viewer over the head with all of the 'Bond, you're getting old and slow', 'Old dog, new tricks' crap all while these are supposed to be movies when 007 is very young. I couldn't get over that. I thought this was going to be more of a character study but it really wasn't. All of the drama and suspense was plot-driven rather than character-driven. I think they forgot Daniel Craig is a really good actor capable of more than a handful of basic emotions. Bardem was great though.

I found that interesting too. How long has Bond been in the field now? He was only promoted at the beginning of Casino Royale, and you're led to believe that not too much time has passed. I mean certainly not between Casino and Quantum of solace because they are right after each other in real time.

So did 10 years elapse between that and the beginning of this movie? Did they promote him to Double O when he was 43?

Other then that i liked the movie. I think what people forget is that most Bond movies are downright terrible. I mean there are cool or memorable parts to them but they are for the most part terrible. Quantum of Solace, Die another Day, World is not enough, Living Daylights were all pretty bad from the new ones. And at least 60-70% of the old ones are pretty brutal to watch now, especially most of the Roger Moore movies where Bond was almost made into a caricature of himself.

So yeah, for a Bond Movie, Skyfall was excellent. As was Casino Royaleand GoldenEye

favorite old one has to be Goldfinger or you simply don't know Bond movies!

I disagree, The Living Daylights was a great Bond and movie highly rated among fans. As for Roger Moore, Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only, and Octopussy were all great. Even Moonraker and The Man with the Golden Gun weren't bad by any means.

I loved that game. Me and my brother played it every day and got scary good at it. My favorite was playing people in multiplayer with proximity mines. After a while we knew where all the places where you'd start were after getting killed (you had 5 lives in multiplayer). So we would rig those places with mines. Then you'd just have to kill the guy once and watch his re-appear and subsequently explode 4 straight times. Ahhhh goldeneye. So many college memories
