is it just me or does the 913 feel like the old Bridegstone J33 Holy Grail driver?

It was 50 degrees here in the hoosier state yesterday and I hit the Titleist 913 D2 for the first time and my first thought was wow this feels just like the Bridgestone j33 I use to hit. I really can't comment on the distance but it really feels sweet just how I remember the J33 with one difference the 913 has a bit of forgiveness the J33 didn't have much. Anyone else notice this?

I was referring to the 460 head, did you hit that one? I had my brother hit my 913 D2 and then the J33R today, he also felt the similarity. Not saying exact but close and for sure the 913 feels nothing like the 910.

I would agree...the 913d2 feels very different from the J33.

The 913 is as close to feeling like the J33 as your going to get. It is a really solid club Titleist did a nice job making it feel and especially sound better.

The Titleist 913 is a lot hotter feeling. The J33 had a nice feel and sound if you hit its sub-atomic sweet spot, but otherwise it wasn't really that great of a head. Not really in Holy Grail territory in my opinion. I have owned many of the HG-class drivers (you name 'em, and I've had 'em), and I would never put the J33 in that category.

I do agree the sweet spot was small on the J33R think it was one of the top drivers of that era. Holy Grail may be subjective but it was one of the first low spin heads with great feel. My top 3 of that era in this order were the TM 510 TP, Bridgestone j33R and Titleist 905R. The 913 has the sweet feel of these but with forgiveness, lowpin and yes much hotter face with the forged insert.

I still have a J33R but it has NO CHANCE of kicking the 913 D3 out of the bag. No way no how. I liked that head, it was low spin, but the sweet spot was small, misses were misses. With the 913, misses are almost good, especially toe misses. I don't think they feel very similar myself but that is me.

Well I'm right there with ya. I thought it was just okay. Nice feel on only a pure strike. But man, for being such a big head, it wasn't terribly forgiving to me.

I see where you are coming from. I hit my 420 head next to a d2 and d3 for a while today. Similar in feel but not the same. A pure struck shot with the 420 felt much better to me than one with the 913. But in the end the d2 gave me the best numbers. Glad I don't have the money for one, or at least my bstone is.

I hate the new Titleist driver, i used to love old school titleist drivers, but not anymore. You are smoking some strong stuff if you think the 913 d2 is anywhere near comparable to the j33r. I have the J33r 8.5 with x-stiff v2 shaft and it's alot more solid feeling than the crappy new titleist driver, as far as forgivness goes with the J33r, I thought it was very forgiving or maybe it's because I hit the sweet spot every single time dead in the screws.
