Original RAC LT's

Anybody still playing them?
Those have been on my back burner radar for some time (ever since I worked in the Pro Shop at DSG) and I think I can scrounge and get a set before May of this year.

I've always like the look and the finish. Nice middle of the road cavity back that sets up well in my mind.

Your thoughts please...

I still play the original LTs and I love them. I Think they are the softest cast irons ever made... They are players irons but they are forgiving too. The head size is not too small, but compact enough, just perfect. If you want a forged iron you can also check out RAC CBs. It give nice boring and penetrating trajectory since LT stands for low trjectory.

Same here. I just landed some new clubs 906F2, 585H and just got a used RAC TP Y Cutter 52° so funds are limited but I think I can make something happen over the next 4 or 5 months. Carrying sandwiches to lunch for a couple months and I should have my complete playable dream set:

The original lt's are great and for me are still great! i've been playing these for 3 years now and they just keep performing. I'm looking at new sets but i just can't really bring myself to kick em' out for anything. They just look amazing at adress and have just the right amount of forgiveness. Its a modern classic.

As to the question above concerning the difference between the lt and lt2..........the lt2's are a tad bigger and have a tad thicker topline and the weight insert is closer to the face, this is supposed to provide a softer feel.............thats about it....and the fact that the 2's are hella ugly! :)

Right now I'm sitting on a gametracker hdcp of 14 so I think the irons I have now are good but the reason I got them was because they were close proximity look and feel to the LT's.

Now, I just need to start siphoning off the cash to get a set!

I agree with all. I love my Rac LT's, they are very easy and nice flight also. I have also the CB's and MB last years, the LT's are for Tourney events only. MONEY MONEY MONEY CLUBS!!

I have the Y-cutter wedges also, 52 and 58, still in the look for the mystery 48 to finish my bag......

Your sig "irons on down" will be my bag once I get my LT's and the 58°!

That's a highly subjective statement, wouldn't you agree? Especially considering the differences in appearance are minor at best. I'm playing the LT2, I don't think it looks terribly differnt than the original LT, what I will say is that either of them are a substancial improvement over the 320 that they replaced. I've dropped several strokes since moving to them, and I'm able to control trajectory much better than I ever have before

  • 3 weeks later...

I've got a used set that I'm getting tomorrow. 3-PW with Rifle 6.0!

These things look brand new. I've inspected them and they are in the store's storage!

The perfect bag is almost complete! All I need is a RAC Black TP 58° and I'm good to go!

Woo Hoo!

I've got a set of the original 2004 LTs. They are sure to be a classic in the TM line. I'm thankful they were only made for one year. The LT2's are nice but most like the LT's better. The LT2's have a thicker top line, are slightly larger in size, are a bit more offset and hit the ball higher. Mind you, the 2004 LT's hit the ball plenty high. They are definitely not Low Trajectory.

Everytime a new iron comes out I start thinking about replacing mine. I got real tempted over a set of Mizuno MX-25's, but my LT's look and perform so well I just can't convince myself that any other set will be that much better. Only other set I'll occasionally use are my RARE Firesole Forged. Now that's a nice looking set!

In any case, the 2004 LT's are a great investment if you can get your hands on one. You won't be disappointed!
