Nike bag, but Ping irons and TaylorMade woods?

I currently have Ping irons, TaylorMade woods, and play a Bridgestone ball. I'm in need of a new bag (current is PIng) and thinking about getting a Nike cart bag that looks pretty good. I'm a little hesitant to do this though, does anyone think this is tacky? Thanks for your opinions!

If you like the bag and you feel it will meet its functional purpose, don't be concerned with appearances, other players will not care- in other words, it is not tacky at all, if it worries you and distracts you, get something else, but you should not be concerned!

Not tacky at all. Lots of golfers with mismatched equipment, especially bags. I've got similar equipment to yours and game an old filthy Nike stand bag.

Personally I think it is silly and tacky to specifically match a bag to the brand you play. I like Nike bags personally. Just find a bag that you like and is in your price range and enjoy the thing! I have the same attitude towards clubs as well with the "one brand" mentality being silly (my bag has 5 different brands in it) but that is just MHO. Just find something you like to look at and works well for you.

Nobody is paying you to have their logo on your club, bags, clothing. Pick what you like, and what meets your needs and enjoy yourself.

I go out of my way not to advertise for the equipment manufacturers. If they want me to adverstise for them they can pay ME!

And really... if someone takes issue with your selections... consider the source and consider them to be stupid.

Thanks for the replies. I don't care what other people think, but I tend to like to match, so that's why I asked. I was hoping you guys would say, "hell no, you can't do that", so now i have a tough decision to make.

As others have stated. Play what you like. If Nike didn't make clubs and only made bags like Sun Mountain and Ogio would it be ok then

I use an Ogio partially because I don't have to worry about equipment matching (but mostly because I love the torque strap). Sun Mountain is the same and Ping bags are cool regardless of the clubs. I probably wouldn't use a Cleveland bag or Taylormade bag without playing some of their equipment, but I definitely don't think anything of it if someone else does. Almost any bag will match for me since I currently have six different makes of clubs in the bag.

No biggie. I had the same issue years back. Ran into an older gentleman who played clubs and gear most world figure were free. He put a 85 on the card. Since then I don't pay much attention

First thing you should ask yourself is "Do I care if they are not the same brands?" If the answer is [i]no[/i] then just get whatever you want. If it is [i]yes[/i] then buy all new equip of the same brand. Worry about yourself and not what others think is cool or not. Someone once said "you have adidas shoes, shorts, shirt, nike socks and nike hat...why didn't you just get adidas socks and hat?" I was blown away that they cared what I was wearing. I politely replied that I guess it was a good thing that I didn't wear my True's that day, and said please don't look in my bag because it is a Datrek bag, Callaway driver, Adams fairway, Callaway hybrids, Mizuno irons, and cleveland wedges.

If anything I find it strange when people have brand loyalty and are one brand head to toe, no matter what...when they aren't paid to play it.

Not tacky at all. If you play with people that could clean cobwebs out of the corners in the ceiling with their noses, then by all means listen to them. But if not, buy what ya like! After all......IT'S YOUR MONEY!

Lat time I checked the bag does not affect the score card. Golf bags are the most overrated item in the golf industry in my mind.

I use a titliest staff bag or a tmag stand bag and my woods are Titleist driver, Nike 4 wood, soon to be a Nike 5 wood. I play TMAG irons and Nike and Titleist wedges with a scotty putter. I personally have never cared if someones clubs match their bag but if I saw it would think ALL matching would be tacky.

Unless you have a 14 club deal and are being paid to endorse a specific brand, then get whatever bag you like the look of.

In my opinion, it looks more "tacky" for an amateur to have all the same brand... smacks of them trying too hard (especially if they are a hacker and have their name on a giant tour bag, like the guy I played with yesterday).

I bought a Titleist bag because I wanted a specific color combo. The only Titleist equipment I use is the ball.
