Fairway club you regret giving up on?

Was speaking with friend about clubs we regret giving up and was painfully reminded of stupid move I made years ago, traded a Sonartec SS03 16* w/ UST Harmon CB90 for a Cleveland Quadpro 16* dual rail w/ bi-matrix that absolutely upshot terribly for me just to complete an all Cleveland bag and because had a couple of other Sonartec heads. I never was able to duplicate the combo, although have found others serviceable. Let's hear it- Which fairway combo do you still miss occasionally ?

None yet. They all had bad attitudes. Just bought a TEE XCG 4 16.5*, we will have to wait until the snow melts to see if it decides it likes me or not.

Cleveland launcher 3 wood. I don't think I ever hit a bad shot with it, just wanted something more flashy. Still looking for that same magic off the deck.

V Steel 3 wood, don't know why I tried to upgrade a club that was perfect!!

V-Steel 3W w/Prolite shaft. Struggled hitting a 3 wood off the deck back then. What makes it worse is the guy I sold it to loved it initially, but now doesn't hit it because his swing is all over the place.

KZG CH-II strong 3 with Grafalloy Blue (original) shaft. Could kill that thing back in the day. Been looking for a replacement ever since and finally found it with the Vr pro LE 3 wood

Taylormade R9 TP 3 wood with a Motore F3 shaft. Loved that club, but I'm a club ho so I had to get the newest club, and got the RBZ. Hated that club, and now I'm still looking for a 3 wood.

Callaway Hawkeye 3 wood. Favorite club in my bag throughout my younger years. Played if for about 5 or 6 years and finally replaced it because the head on it was ginormous and hitting it out of the fairway was tough sometimes. Ever since I replaced it, I have been searching for something new. Looking to the rocketballz this spring and summer. Hopefully that will be the one.

Ping WRX G10 15.5* 3 wood. Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue +1/2". That thing setup perfectly for me. In my typical fashion, I changed driver so I had to get the matching 3 wood and traded the Ping in. Heck, I don't thing the replacement lasted more than a month.

Runner up is the 2007 Burner TP 14.5* w/stock shaft. That has a cult following and I know why.

Ping i3 14* 3-wood. I never got rid of it, my dad just stole it from me after his clubs were stolen out of his vehicle. He bought me a new one, (Callaway) and it was okay, but every 3-wood that I've hit since looks way to big to my eye and doesn't perform as well because of the lack of confidence

Mizuno MP 3 wood. Although I never bought it I tried it out a few times and loved it. Just too expensive for me.

Taylormade 200 Super Steel with an Aerotech ss75 shaft. I had it for 10+ years and was an idiot for getting rid of it. A little shallow from the tee, but deadly from the fairway.

Funny that is the combo I now have except its an F1 shaft - greatest 3 wood I have ever had - i even got another one off ebay so in case I get stupid and sell my gamer I will have a back up

I have 2 - Taylor Made R580 with Harrison shaft - and Titleist 906F2 15* with V2 85 FW shaft - I tried to duplicate the 906 in the 909 and it just did not work. tried another 906 with same shaft - no dice - it's weird how each club truly is unique.

I am going to email myself everyday to remind me not to get rid of this R9 - it is money

[/quote]I Sold my 07 burner tp 14.5 a couple of years ago after never being able to find the right shaft for it (low ball hitter). I would've loved to try a 83 redboard or a 80 ilima in it.

Hmmmm 906f2 with the 85x NV
TEE xcg with an 80x aldila hm2000, that was a good one, easy to hit off the deck.

I've had a hell of a time finding the right 3 wood, seems like the ones I like off the tee don't get the ball high enough off the deck(just sold my 14.5 RBZ tour with the 85x tipped 2 inches), and the ones I like off the deck tend to get a little balloony at times.

Got a new one on the way, txxxx sftp v2 13.5 with a ust vst 7x red, looking forward to trying that out. Hoping it will e a best of both worlds set up for me. Btw, the RBZ tour was a monster of the tee, I actually cut it down to 41.5 so it wouldn't go 300 lol

Callaway Hawkeye Titanium 4+ wood. 15 degrees, so a slightly more compact 3-wood you could say. Had it for almost 10 years..I still bag it, but I'm bent on getting a new FW soon even though I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I already know I'll miss it though, does that count, ha ha?

Callaway Great Big Bertha Titanium 3 wood. Easily my favorite 3 wood of all time although I am very happy with what I have now. When the TM R9's came out I decided to give TM a try, and promptly sold the Big Bertha. Yea, worst decision of my golfing life. I got the R9 driver and fairway and they are easily the two most hated clubs I have ever had. Got rid of them after a month.

Callaway warbird 5 wood. Sold it around 2001 and spent over a decade before I found anything I could hit close to as well. Won't make the same mistake twice.

My Callaway warbird 3+ that I had back in 1998 with that POS RCH96 shaft in it. I nuked that thing. But I just haaaaad to put a "better" shaft in it. It was never the same.
